Re: Team talk server for free @13 Whatever channels are there are there, you hover over one and hit control J to join, enter might also work on channels, on users, enter will open the message dialog to pm them. Control L to enter the limbo in between channels. I don't know if the public one will let you make temp channels, I wouldn't see why not though, actually I see some chans there, so I guess it does. Super easy to set up and use that way. It'll only work when your computer is up and running the program, but that is an option. Re: Team talk server for free yep.now, really it's about how much you want it.if it's just a little thing that you will go on like a time a week, then it's ok some one else hosting it for you, because you don't really use it a lot.how ever if, you have loads of people on it, and you use it a lot, it's good to grab a vps.now i will not tell you to go and get one from, this provider, or what ever, you can do the research,but the best thing for you would to get linux,all you need to do, is set it up, then ssh into your server.if you don't under stand what that is, just give it a google,a good ssh client would be putty.or even the built in ssh client into windows 10you can get into it by just typing ssh, into the command prompt or powershell.now, if you don't know how to open that, just do, windows, + r, then type cmd.when useing the build in ssh client you do, ssh your username @the ip or the domain.so for example.ssh t...@ilya-productions.duckdns.orgthen you will press enter, and put in your password.when hosting a team talk server, you can find a bunch of guides on line about it. They have basic ones that assist you right after creating an account, all the way up to really advanced topics I don't currently need or care about. Of course, you could always use the public servers if you want something free.I've actually been pleasantly surprised with Team Talk. I used to not be a fan, but the more I use it, the more I like it. It's kind of neat having a place where people can come and go at will. It's also nice to have the ability to restrict it to only a select group of people should you wish to do so. I wonder how popular it is in the mainstream? I've heard of Team Speak, Discord, and Mumble, but no one aside from blind people really seems to use Team Talk.Speaking of which, why don't the mobile versions support video transmission? It would be useful for sighted people. I still consider myself a Linux newbie, but I know enough to run all my servers as well as implementing reasonable measures to secure the Linux system itself.I recommend using Linode! I'm not being paid to say this, but Linode rocks! I use their $5 a month plan and it works great! You get full SSH access and can do whatever you want. But, if you don't want to do that, you can also get a free TeamTalk server from qs-hosting.com which has way better support and service overall. They, at least in my experience, just get things done a lot quicker than JC-Hosting.
