Deng basically answered all the questions here so not much more to add. The moves will sound different when using omega mode and sometimes characters will say something different rather than what they would typically say for that move. Ken for example actually does not throw fireballs with his spinning kicks, instead he has an entirely new move where he does a kick and throws a fireball at the same time while kicking. If Im not mistaken, the fireballs actually come from his feet... and he will not say hadouken, he will simply let out a loud kiai or yell, and itll be the same sound he makes when throwing the ex version of his regular fireball and if you are close enough the opponent will be hit by both the kick and fireball simultaneously.

Thanks everyone for the edition select info. If Im not mistaken, when you choose your character, you start on their costume selection. Is edition select up one from there? Is there any way to tell what edition you are on for example by the sound of a special move? I assume the voices stay the same. In omega mode for example, isnt it Ken or Ryu that throws a fireball during the spin kick attack?

Yes. Edition select will be 1 up from your costume. Edition select is only available in versus mode, training mode, or, if you allow it in online endless battles.When you are playing on arcade mode, edition select will not be available---When you choose your ultra. Most of the time, it will save your selection. So, if you already have a character set to use ultra double, and you forgot, then you moved the selection down once more at a later time, that characters ultra will most likely go back to ultra 1.

Yes it does. However, after choosing arcade mode, the difficulty selection screen choices do not appear to wrap. For example, after choosing arcade mode, adjust the difficulty to the left and the selection sound will eventually stop and you will be at 1 or very easy or whatever the games call it now a days. In the super Nintendo version of the original sf2, the difficulty was numbered 0 to 8 with 0 being the easiest. Anyway the other options in that screen such as round select appear not to wrap either.So is edition up one from the screen after choosing your character? I also assume the screen after that where you choose your specific ultra, pushing up once will select the ultra double option?Thanks again everyone for all the help.

By default. the editions are set to Ultra. If you go to the right once, it will go to omega.Thats really it. It sucks that all the menus and choices wrap.

First question. There should only be a need to press the back button, thats the way it is on ps3.2. Story cutscenes in ultra are the same as super SF 4... yes, if you want to get the gist of what little story there is, then you need to watch the original story.3. All characters start on their ultra SFIV versions, and the only one to the right is omega edition. It wraps back to the original SFIV edition then from there in order of the games, assuming the character was in all 4 editions.

Regarding jaws OCRUp and down arrowing after a scan is only for screen review, pressing enter on an option doesnt actually move to or select anything, I am using a USB game controller to do that.Thanks

Thanks for the great menu descriptions here. Just picked up ultra SF4 on steam for PC. Have a couple quick questions.First, I cant seem to save my music volume settings in options. I set it, press the back button to get back to the main menu and play for a while. When I quit and restart the game later on, music is back to normal. Is there a different way the options menu must be exited such as a save button?Second, are all of the character story cutsceens for the entire SF4 series available in this version? From doing research on various wiki pages, in order to get the whole story if you can even call it that, you must watch the original SF4 cutsceens first followed by super SF4. I have the original game on a disk which I can install.Finally, has anyone figured out the edition select area of the character screen? For example, what option is each character on by default and what options are to the right until you wra
 p back to the first one?A couple tips to add:Once you set a training option such as the super combo gage to infinit, they stay that way until you exit training entirely back to the main menu. At least thats what seems to be happening, anyone please correct me if Im wrong.Also, the OCR option of jaws does actually pick up some of the menus. If you pause the game, go down twice and hit ok on the training options, press jaws key + space, O for OCR than W for window, when the OCR finishes you can up and down arrow through the options. If you change something and OCR again, it will read the change. Of course its not perfect but you can find out what options youve changed most of the time. Unfortunately it reads some of the edition select screen but not enough to tell what is selected.I apologize for the long post.Thanks.

Omega mode is here! Meaning a gameplay recording. lol For all those who have played this game to any extent before, imega mode is like SF on steroids... major steroids. As you can hear, movement speed for all the characters are increased, which brings the game to crazy speeds for SF standards... and most characters have lots of new moves and reworked mechanics. And you can tell that Sakura is not one of my most played chracters... as I lose to both Chun Lee and Hugo. Enjoy! Ken is by far one of my favorite characters to play as in omega mode. New moves include throwing fireballs with his feet in combination with kicks, a few new moves and a variation of his shippu jinrai kyaku from older games. Sakura also has a similar trick, and now has more hits added to her shouuken uppercut as well as her shippu kyaku hurricane kick. she is also one of the few characters to have new supers as well! I dont know what that screen actually looks like since I never bothered with that section. The next screen, to choose the ultra combo, is the only screen Ive cared about. lol But if you do figure out the layout, yes, you just adjust the options with left and right and press x to confirm.

Just a correction.. you actually can go up to character change by using up instead of down. It doesnt automatically go to memory. I thought it was some weird wrapping thing too until I tried it. Works just thesame as any other menu. Thanks though! And bonus game 2 is smashing barrels. lol

 39;s sequel Persona 4 arrena Ultimax?If you like Injustice and street fighter, you might like them to. All the menus are straight forward, the fighting system is top class, the storyline is fully accesible, and, you dont need to play the persona games to enjoy these games.

I wouldnt say if you liked injustice youll like persona 4... those are two very different cups of tea in every aspect, not just fighting mechanics. True about it being a good game though I think you do have to play the persona games to get the maximum enjoyment you can.  Thanks for the menus though... I think you might as well just post the character selection screen here too since everyone else may want t look at it. And arcade mode has options in it that some people might want to think about... such as number of rounds and whether fight requests can be turned on or off.

Ultra SF4 general game layout questions.

Hi guys,I finally decided to buy Ultra SF4 and Im going to learn how to play as much as I can. As far as mechanics and high level play, I already have my sources.However, I was wondering. For those who have this game, do you know the layout of the menus and character select screen?Thats all I want to know pretty much. Hope to hear some responses from you blind sf players. Where are you guys at?

Not too clear on the character selection screen... since I only use a certain few characters. Menus I only know bits and pieces of. We should play some time though. lol
