Steampunk neverland/clocktower chronicles was announced along with preorder links in 2014. Yeah, that's 6 years ago. And what do we have to show for it? Zilch. Almost the same for edge of winter, an announcement in late 2014 with preorders. We get constant release pushbacks for about a year, then the dev just... goes silent. And then in late 2017, we get some demo thing. You could at least expect a full release then. Griff? If you payed for griff 1 at release, you waited for about a month to get your copy, and that copy randomly crashed, randomly decided to not let you hit a boss even though you were supposed to, and have other game-breaking bugs. Then griff 2 later, which was literally the same game with new cutscenes. If you play both side by side, you'll probably notice that the bosses appear at exactly the same levels as they do in griff 1. Furthermore, griff 2 promised an automated order system that delivered links on purchase. Nope, it didn't. While we're on the subject, is there anyone that bought the eric the cleric toys? I'm just curiosu if anyone ever got them. If refunds aren't possible anymore, then surely he should have no problem at least delivering what he promised.I will say this much for Jake. He claims to have changed engines, and perhaps this means he's learned a thing or two about game design and stability. I have no particular desire to spend more money on his products, but if he does keep his promises - I have my doubts, but hey, stranger things have happened - I'll be willing to at least listen.People are, after all, capable of fixing bad patterns of behaviour. But it starts, in a case like this, with reconciliation, and that definitely means compensating the folks who ordered games and didn't get them.All that being said, I can't stress this strongly enough. If, like me, you want to approach him about a product you never got, do. not. lie. Also, please don't hound him about games that aren't even live yet. If I were you, I'd only chase if 1. the game is available already and 2. you can provide some sort of proof that you paid for it (a paypal receipt is a really good piece of proof, and that's what I used). If Jake gets a flood of people pestering him, and several are lying in order to try and get free stuff, both he and I are going to be pretty pissed off (well, me for sure, as that's just slimy).This is a chance for us to hold him accountable, not fuck him over. I did, however, invite him to provide me with a playable copy of Griff, since I bought it about two years ago and never got it. I provided a paypal receipt (stupid me, I forgot to do the dispute back when it was viable, so I made sure to tell him I couldn't and wouldn't chase him for a refund on legal grounds). But I made extremely clear that reputation speaks very loudly, and that he might do well to really and truly fix his image first before coming back with the same old shit.If he responds to me personally in any way, I'll let you folks know. I know he gave us some kind of demo a year or so ago but he just keeps delaying over and over. I ordered Eric the Cleric when I was 13-14 and it took me almost a month to get the full version because the guy had no automated delivery system. I got it anyway, but I've lost hope for his future since he started the edge of winter nonsense.
