Re: Using Google Play music?

I can't get the music manager to work with Jaws or NVDA. Any tips on what I need to do?

Re: Using Google Play music?

Well, it came to Canada about a month ago, and that is when I checked it out. Maybe the Catalogue in Canada is much smaller than the US catalogue? I searched on all of the artists in my rdio collection, so about 500 artists, and Google Music had only half of them. And the ones it did have, the albums available on Google Music were often fewer than the albums available on rdio. What I would really like is a way to combine my collections on bandcamp and rdio into one app. Then I would have my complete musical collection at my fingertips. Thats what drove me to check out Google Music, because if the catalogue had been nearly as good as rdio, I could have uploaded my bandcamp stuff and had what I wanted. Alas, it just was not so.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177484#p177484

Re: Using Google Play music?

No, it came to Canada just recently. But unfortunately, compared to rdio, the catalogue is rather lacking. It has the advantage that I can upload all my rare tracks, but thanks to rdio, I havent been buying albums for a few years now. And moving playlists between Google Music and rdio doesnt look like a thing you can do. Also, I find the rdio web app much less of a resource drain, and the iPhone app is slightly more stable for me. Also, rdio is available in like 40 countries, compared to Google Musics 2 or 3.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177322#p177322

Re: Using Google Play music?

I have experience using the Android application, which after a shaky start where accessibility is concerned, got much better. Its very nice to tell my phone to play Dave Brubeck and have a lovely and ongoing swath of cool jazz to listen to through dinner with zero intervention. Your experience with the desk top application is better than mine, which was far less usable last time I tried it, so Ill have to go back and try it again.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177186#p177186

Re: Using Google Play music?

OK, little update:I submitted the fact to google that their music manager was blank when one first opens it. Then I got one of those little handy sighted people to read me what the box said and learned that the first place the cursor lands is your email box. The second place you reach with tab is the password field and the 3rd is log-in. Once you get past that then the thing is accessible. The play app in google is fantastic, all important buttons are labeled and it is pretty easy to use with some fiddling. I did submit to Google that they should consider following the good practice for HTML pages and add headings and whatnot, but havent heard back.In firefox a strange thing happens, if you are listening to music, every so often the sound card will be taken over by google play and the screen reader will not make a sound. I opened google play in Chrome and it seems to work just fine. There is also much less junk in google chrome than there is in firefox.Im using NVDA and it is really good to memorize some of the key commands when using the app. You go into the edit mode (NVDA key+space) and press all the commands just about anywhere on the page. space is play/pause, =- volume up and down, left and right are skip song, shift left and right are rewind...For those who use Spotify, this is much better!I am in the midst of uploading all 7000 songs of mine to the cloud. The IPhone app Gplayer and the default google play music app are both fantastic.Does anyone else have any experience with Google Play?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177160#p177160
