They've shared the accessibility options now. It's a super complex open world game, doesn't look playable without sighted assistance. However it does have voiced menus, so it's another step down the road towards that becoming properly standardised.

@7 I kinda understand you, but:Look at 2009 for example. We didn't have basically anything. We didn't have talking menus (except for some Dragon Ball z and some other games, but these were not made for blind users), we never had any AD-ed trailers, we didn't have any audio cues that told us when a certain metre was full in fighting games (I think sfIV had some sound cues that told you when your super/ultra metre was full and they (probably) were also not made with accessibility users in mind). Then there's also madden's accessibility which I can't really talk about because I haven't played a madden game, but I heard that that was pretty great too.There have been a lot, and I mean a lot! of Big advancements towards making a game accessible to everyone  in the last 11 years.And/or game trailers as well.

@12 that actually wasn't an accessibility issue, it literally had nothing in it, regardless of whether you were using a screenreader or not. Glitch in their system, it just loaded forever without anything showing. If a company starts pushing for accessibility in year X, some things will be possible by year X, some by year Y and some by year Z. Games take years to make, trailers take months. From a technical perspective, audio description is as simple as an additional audio track over the top. Accessible gameplay very much is not that simple, especially in something that has as many complex interacting systems as a AAA game. 2. Ubisoft have publicly stated that blind accessibility is important to them (https://news.ubisoft.com/en-us/article/ … nd-players), but actions speak louder than words, and AD trailers are a way that you can see that commitment in action - AD isn't free, you can see through these videos that Ubisoft is putting money where its mouth is, investing money in blind accessibility.3. As nice as TLOU2's efforts for blind accessible gameplay are, there's a ton of story stuff that you miss because the game has no AD, which is a big deal for a narrative game. If Naughty Dog had already been in the habit of producing audio-described videos, with an understanding of what it is and when and where it applies, the production process, relationships with suppliers, etc, as Ubisoft is now building up some expertise in, perhaps AD might have made it into the game too. I'd hope that will be the case over the coming couple of years at Ubi, as their games become more blind accessible it'll be alongside AD in games. No AAA studio is going to leap straight from nothing to perfectly accessible, it'll be a gradual evolution of parts falling into place. It's a bit like some of the complaints that there have been on here about games gaining voiced menus but not accessible gameplay, or accessible gameplay but not voiced menus - that's all good, as time is progressing developers are gaining solid examples of each of the constituent parts already out there in the market that they can play with, learn from, and build upon. The important thing is that developers now care, have intent, management backing, and growing knowledge and experience of what is involved. Just a few short years ago that really wasn't the case for pretty much any AAA studio anywhere, I can't share details but suffice to say Naughty Dog and Ubisoft are not the only developers now taking it very seriously.4. Even without games being accessible enough to play independently, lots of blind gamers play games with sighted assistance5. Audio description isn't only for people without any sight - it's also valuable for people with low vision, some people with learning disabilities, and even some sighted people prefer AD.

People need to remember that Rome was not built in a day.It will take us years to get accessibility. When you stop and think about it. it took us years to get accesibility in last of Us Part 2. We just didn't know about it because no news was released until the game's launch. Developers didn't all start the process at the same time.Be patient.

They have said that there will be accessibility features and that some details of those will be shared in a few weeks' time. However that's accessibility across all types of disabilities, I wouldn't bet on there being features for blind gamers.
