These types of games should not be allowed to exist on this site. It's a rampant problem that's harming the AG community. Also, whoever it was that said about getting the source code; a developer isn't obligated to hand over the actual source to anyone, mods included. What if before Liam was made a mod, and there just happened to be another game out there a lot like the great toy robbbery, and the mods were like, give us the source and we'll investigate. Do you think he would do that? Hell no. Not only is that the code for his game, but it has the info needed to contact the score board server and the registration and all that. So, I reject that comment out of hand. Finally, the mods used to be able to act without everyone jumping down their throats regarding every decision they made, why can't we get back to that? So I'd like to maintain transparency by writing down my thought process and what lead to the decision.A month ago, the original poster was banned for a month for attempting to pass along games using unauthorized source code. The forum software lifted that ban a couple of days ago, and the poster went back to doing the same thing with this game.Now there are a number of things I looked at before making this decision. yes I ended up deciding very quickly, but here are some questions I asked myself.1. Who was the poster? In this case it was someone who had recently been banned for doing what they were now doing again.2. Who had made the game? The poster was posting on behalf of Mahdi. A banned forum member. 3. Where was info about the game located? Any audio. Now this is subjective, but I am going to just be blunt and say it. Any audio has turned in to a sess pool for drama and imaturity. That seems to be the place for games made with unauthorized source code packages. or as I have began to call these games. Unauthorized forks.4. Did the game look like an unauthorized fork? Skimming comments I read from several people both on any audio and the forum that the game exhibited similar glitchy behavior that was common in TK. I had loaded it u in a virtual machine, ran the game, and noticed immedietly it had many similarities to other forks of it's type.I can not stress enough how detrimental unauthorized forks are to this community. I have two main issues with the continued distribution of games like this.1. They flood this tiny community with poorly planned out games that all run the same and exhibit the same bugs.2. Someone who is unscrupulous can take the original code, add back doors and other malicious code bits and package them off as new games.The second point is the one that I really get worried about. There are many people in this community who have everyone's best interests at heart, but there are others who are more than happy to use their knowledge to infect and attack other people's systems. This is one of the reasons why we take such a harsh stance on these things. Not to mention that the code was never unauthorized for public use in the first place.I'm sorry to those who think I acted in haste, but as a moderator, I have this community's best interest at heart.also. After I wrote this, I saw a comment I'd like to touch upon.8: it does not matter if someone added a little code to an existing project. The developer of the original project has explicitly stated that the code was not to be handed out and used. if you steal a car and paint it a different color, it's still a stolen car. Fighter2005 was also warned repeatedly, and previously banned for doing this exact thing. What happened with sudden attack? Hi.First of all, I'm not on anyone's side here or trying to defend anyone. I just found out about this thing today so wanted to see if it was a clone or not, since as we all know mahdi's history on here isn't exactly clean.So, while I was doing a little check of the forum just now, I found the topic. I had a quick little read through it, mostly just people asking weather or not it was a clone, but no real proofe from any side. Then I check any audio, some more recordings there too. It looked even then to be a clone, the tracking system was the exact same as in rs and tk, the minigame, etc. So I thought ok, I'll have a look into this to see if I can find out more. So I found the topic again just now, to find that it's closed and the link is gone. The only other link I found was from someone's any audio post, and it gives a 404 error. I'm also curious to know how liam could verrify it was a clone, most likely without access to the source code.Again, I'm not trying to say that what the mod did was wrong or anything, and if proofe comes out that this thing really is a clone, then I'll be the first one telling liam he did a good job here. It just pisses me off how some people still don't like me because of things I've done in the past, and I don't want to be one of those.
