Re: Youtube.DL heres what you do for youtube-dl:try:youtube-dl -x and whatever url you want, I know it works with playlists, not sure about channelsif youre having issues with ffmpeg, check out winff, its a gui for ffmpegIf Im downloading a playlist of videos that I want to turn into audio, Ill do:youtube-dl and the url of the playlistthen I use winff to convert the video files into audio, I know its a bit clunky but hey, it works...then send those video files to the depths of hades gymsocks...the cool part about winff is that itll install ffmpeg for you, so thats one less thing that you have to do.Finally, winff doesnt just do video to audio, it has presets which let you convert more or less anything to anything media related, wish it could to air to coffee, but thats just me loland to review in command line mode, use your object review in nvda.Btw hope all you guys had a happy new year! Re: Youtube.DL I just put up my Youtube-dl guide up again which should answer all of your questions, but the short version is that passing -x should download just the audio of the video. Pontes might be crashing because it doesnt update the youtube-dl binary (you can pass --update to do this in case downloads str failing)@burak songrs youtube downloader sucks. Its not very efficient because it first downloads the video as an FLV file and then converts the audio on your computer, which is slow and uses a lot more data. It also cant batch process multiple videos. Re: Youtube.DL You dont atually need to know how to use ffmpeg in this case, all you have to do is make sure that its installed and somewhere where youtube-dl can access it, so either in your path or in the same folder as youtube-dl. It will pass ffmpeg the required commands to EG add metadata or convert the audio file to another format. Youtube.DL HHi.Ive been looking at youtube.dl and really like it. Ive been trying ponce media downloader but it keeps crashing on me. Where as youtube.dl hasnt crashed once at all.I find this interesting since the ponce program seem to be using youtube.dl so I dont understand how come the command line program doesnt crash yet ponce does.Anyway what i would like to know is how do I donwload a youtube video. Ive tried putting f- mp3 at the end, didnt work, I tried -format mp3 or something aalong those lines. Its kind of late so I cant exactly remember.Im downloading mp4 videos write now 1060 to be exact, so Im okay but I know making them mp3 would make them so much smaller and cutting out the video would make them tiny.Also how do blind people learn the commands when you cant review them using the command line? For example if I was to right youtube-dl --help A screen comes up, and NVDA sta rts reading but theres no way as far as I know to copy and paste that info.I dont mind people writing me a script as was said before in another topic, but Id prfer to do it on my own so that I can learn this stuff. I find it quite interesting how a program can crash but the command line one that this program is stil useing doesnt crash.
