Correct. I'd say go trooper out of those you picked out. You get good defense, and able to use heavy armor. Meantime my light armor wearing Darju agent's the one that's in hiding, stabbing and poisoning folks with daggers. I quite like getting shit to advance on me, stab and poison them, then retreat and wait for the poison to kill them so they can't hit me, all the while in hiding. Slow, but /very/ useful.Also, agent's more stealth based, merc is out and out and out combat, so I'd stil say go trooper and such. There's more info on races/profesions on the game's website and that does a better job than I can explain. I had to smirk at the Darju explaining of how they are socially. Which boils down to do not invite to a polite dinner party and expect to get growled at for trying to snugle with a Darju

We'd like to expand the pets in the future but right now you can carry them or leave them places, including your home. They age, but they don't die / can't be harmed. They don't take part in combat, though we might allow that to some degree in the future. They can have interesting reactions to events / character actions once in a while.

Another thing I haven't seen mentioned, and I don't know how fleshed out it is.But you can have pets in Haelrahv.The ones I've seen are cute too, once you learn to spell the creatures' names.You can feed them, and they react when you pet them.I think you carry them with you, but I'm not certain if you can let them stay in your house.

I was going to mention winemaking which is something I haven't seen in other Muds.Some of the crafting, like pottery, is incredibly detailed and fun.And this Mud really deserves a page in the database, because I have never seen a developer be so responsive, and work so fast to resolve any accessibility issues we find.Here are a few commands he made just in the last few days.set titledirections on - this allows directions to be shown in the top line of the room descriptionset combatbrief minimal - this cuts down on a lot of the text in combatexits or paths - shows you where you will go if you choose an exitI am seeing forty players on easily, at different times during the day.

So my thoughts on the activities I've done, a la Dark:Foraging: This is good, and amazingly useful. I was cackling at a certain someone my char lives with failing at it because they tried foarging for things that could only be mined. You don't need tools and the payout is good for starting, and it's one of the ways to get certain equipmentMining: Similar to foraging, but you can find pages for psi/mage stuff, metals, stones, and so onPottery: Not done this in a while, but it is majorly detailed and worth doing if you're into potions/poisons or just want to get creative and make nice looking thingsExploring: Not really a coded activity, but it's rewarding to end up somewhere unexpected and/or new or find your way into a new area and find interesting things..and you may just find treasure.Fishing: This is one of my favorite 'to relax' ones. Granted, Melie's home has a nice fishing spot on the deck, but..no matttr where, grab a rod/pole/etc, some bait, and fish. You can sell the cooked fish for money to.Combat: This is another favorite of mine, something about the sneaky agent style just clicks with me, and the flow of it too. Granted I stay at range using rifles/pistols but...but...melee's a good alternative tooDiving: Another fun one really, and you can find things on the sea floor or fight underwater creatures. Not tried thatyet. Too poor after spending 350k on armor and weapons.Digging for research: This one's oddly relaxing, you head to Lacad, outside of it before the walkway there's the research place, and buy a shovel (which is good for beating people over the head oddly enough), then you get your site, and head to it. Then you just dig and see what you can find. Just you, and a shovel, and curiosity.Potions/poisons: Lumping these in since they are similar. Both take many steps.For example the vial of pain goes like this...Forage/mine ingreedients.Buy mortar and pestle, stove (if your place has none), flask, weapons if you want to apply it, siring rod, and optionally, a component bag.Once you foraged up the ingreedients, look att them, follow the instructions.Ivy goes likethis: Dry it in a pouch, then crush, then boil it, then put it in a flaskSame for the other two, crush, add to flaskMix poison.Hope you don't blow up your house/where you areCombat goes like this:Fledgelingg kmamohacken walks inaim kamoBegin to aimfire kamoShoot at it /after/ feeling the shot's ready (mercs don'th have this issue)I tend to hide at this point to open up things like pistolwhip, ambush or the aforementioned poison. Which can't be used on guns, but daggers/arrows are fine for it.Oh and I bought a starblade too. AK hello, lightsaber.

So there were a few updates made by the hosts recently, and the player count now is between 18 to 30.People are talking on discord about making a wiky, and everyone's very helpful.The admin will try to add new systems, but that's based on his time and RL work overload.What motivates anyone to work on things is players. As a heads up, you can forage clay from the marsh NE of the city gates. Beats paying for it, and if you have trousers, the clay cutter can fit in there, same for backpacks. I've been leaving good backpacks in the donation bin at the city gates so don't be afraid to take it and use it. Fifty pounds of weight is prety god for capacity.Also, Llanfair has many, many interesting shops, and if you need help, ask over newbie

PotteryThis can be a bit complicated, so I thought I'd share what I learned.From the city gate, hail taxi.Choose 21 for the art center.Go center.You are in the main room.Go south I think it is and you're in the hallway of the art center.Go supply room.Here you need to buy vest and wear it.This is your vest that will let you carry a lot of pottery supplies.Now buy all the tools that are there, the manual, the etching tool, and the clay cutter.You can forage clay, so ask over the newbie channel for someone to help you with locations, but you can also buy clay, and i think it's in this room.Look at my vest to see what's there, and put your tools in the proper locations.Go hallway.Go north, and you're In the main room again.Go glaze arch.Now you are in the room for all the colored glazes you will find for pottery.First, buy a jar of water and a glazing brush.Now, in all the cardinal directions, you will find rooms with glaze colors.Your vest will hold 12 of these, so choose wisely.Go each direction.Type menu.You'll see a list of colors, so buy whichever number appeals to you.Back in the main glaze room, I think it's go arch to get back into the main room of the art center.Go south again for the hallway.Go south a few times, and east and west of you, you will see individual pottery booths. Go into one that's empty.Sit down and get clay from vest.If it is a block of clay, get cutter from loop.Put clay on table.Cut clay.If it says you can't cut something that's inside something you are wearing, try cut tenth clay, and it should cut the clay on the table.When you are finished, put cutter in loop.Put clay in pouch.Your block of clay has just become two lumps, so you should still have one lump of clay on the table.Press clay. This gets the air bubbles out.When that's done, get clay.Put clay on wheel.Type "pottery list" to see what you can make.Type "shape clay into" whatever your choice is.this will take a little while.When it's done, get clay from wheel.Open kiln.Put clay in kiln.Close kiln.Fire kiln.Now you will need to wait a while, because the clay is baking.You can start another project if you want, or study something else.When the timer beeps, open kiln.Get plate or whatever you made from kiln.Don't worry if it's botchedor dented; it will still sell.Now, get brush from loop.Dip brush in blue glaze, or whatever color you bought.Paint plate (or whatever) with brush.Note that you don't have to take your glazes out of your vest to work with them.Also note that you don't have to wash the brush after every painting. The only reason to dip brush in water is if you wait too long to pain and the glaze dries on the bristles.Once that's done, put brush in loop.Now you have something you can sell.You can work on other projects if you like.When you are ready to leave, look at the room just to be sure you haven't left anything out of your vest or any projects lying around.Go out of your booth, and go north through the hallway to the main room.Go out or go door to get out of the art center.Hail taxi and choose 19, to go to "Picture This."That's where you can sell your projects.I hope this helps clarify things a bit.

For foraging,Put as many points into ecology as you can.Go outside the city gates and follow the highway til you start reading about the beach.Type survey.You might see what you can gather, but your easiest bet is just to type forage.You will start getting things like stones and gems.Put them in your pack and keep foraging for a while.Follow the highway back to the city gates, go in, hail a taxi, and go to 23, the commodities market.Go market.Go north and then east, and you'll be in the room to sell what you have foraged.Another really quick way to make money initiallyAt the gates, go entrance.You'll find yourself in a room that lets you forage for londrum, and they pay pretty good for it, as far as foraging goes.

I'm trying to get somewhere east of it for some skinning practice on someone, but I keep getting lost ont he Deep Woods section of the eastern side with all the special chiths and village. Can't seem to find a path through the woods, as I keep getting circled back to that central pool.

Survey relies on ecology, so put a few points into that and you can forage and sell things. Once you get good with bows or a weapon and get a few levels, grab a knife and put some points into skinning, then skin and sell skins. I've made a ton of money and levels doing that, though I made an agent. You won't find anything to do without putting at least some points in.For instance, if you want to craft, which I know you're into, make an artisan, and put points into crafting and grab some clay (I can tell/show you where to forage clay once you put a few points into ecology) then head to the art place, and craft away. Crafting pays good money if you don't want to get into combat

Well I did manage to login, but not much else. I created a trackr character, wandered around a bit, couldn't find anything to do so got into a fight, and got killed on account of having a bow with no arrows, and a spear in the wrong hand. I typed survey in various rooms but didn't see anything to gather or interact with. The game looks interesting but not exactly friendly to get into, especially with no consider command, no way to practice combatt on low level enemies, and no indication of what to actually do for your profession.

For the agent hangout..go other dorI just do hide, stalk whatever, ambush, hide, sheath my knife/sword/etc, pull out my carbine or pistol, then shoot/hide/etc over and over and over til thing dies.And the passive XP goes away at around level 30. I'm level 22 now. I'm tempted to make a psionic or mage to try it out

Okay I'm curious. how are people using ambush? Didn't realize it was a melee attack. but agents get an autotrain in marksmanship. Are tehre guns with bladed or stabbing attachments for that? Are people just training up melee attacks over guns? Sort of used up a reallocation on a character, but I'm wondering if knives use agility over strength. probably should of not gone with a race with penalties in strengthw. What spread of stats are agents using and skills?Edit:  Okay, might redo as a melee build. Didn't realize fired weapons used mentality as a primary for accuracy, and coordination secondary. I rather just focus on Strength/agility/coordination rather than spreading out from perception/mentality/agility/coordination with ranged attacks.I guess as a person who stays in range, maybe dumping agility for now to get mentality up for accuracy and not get dragged into melee would help until my aim/damage with guns are betterHowever, with poisons and stuff like backstab/asssassination being a thing, I'm wondering if  bladed combat is more preferred?However, now I'm a bit conflicted on my guardian. the two stats that one has a penality on is agility/coordination, the accuracy stats for unarmed attacks. That's going to be a pain to raise up. maybe I should just dump charisma for now. technically, with 7 costs for costs of strength and vitality, and 12 for agility/coordination, I'm somewhat averaging out to 9 per stat at least. Charisma can be retrainned in once more charisma abilities come in.

Okay I'm curious. how are people using ambush? Didn't realize it was a melee attack. but agents get an autotrain in marksmanship. Are tehre guns with bladed or stabbing attachments for that? Are people just training up melee attacks over guns? Sort of used up a reallocation on a character, but I'm wondering if knives use agility over strength. probably should of not gone with a race with penalties in strengthw. What spread of stats are agents using and skills?

I've not got snipe (yet) at 21, but I've found having an assault carbine gifted to me works really good. Hide, stalk somebody, advance into melee range, aim/shoot, hide and aim, shoot, hide, repeat till they die. It's hilariously amazing.And no, I've not even messed with poisons yet. I could quite honestly ditch my TG 23 rifle for the carbine if I can get close enough honestly

I'm an idiot. I put my poison ingreedients in other backpacks...derp.Forest is the enchanted one outside Llanfair, the ridge is found by finding a rock with glyphs and climbing over it. Mines had me going nope no climbing skill and nope a candle will fuck up my using rifles...and they didn't drop loot.Court cases I've not tried. I'm currently loving sneak up on folks, ambush, hide, draw my carbine, and shoot them three times and duck back into hiding.EDIT: Drones? So it seems for a while, one can gain exp by just being logged off, and even while offline! (got 140k xp bieng offline due to being busy for the past 2 days). However, I kind of want to test some things on my guardian. Anyone have suggestions on hunting grounds for lv 6-20? Alternative, other activities a unarmed golemperson can parttake as a guardian?As well, seems the recommendation for guardians is to blitz up charisma first and rely on guardian abilities and spells to do a bulk of the work early on. Any other uses for charisma to benefit me? Not sure what I'd be using money on since I generally shouldn't be using armor, weapons or biotech. healing aids maybe?

So for those of you who played before...1. Weapons. I'm on about marksmanship since I went agent. Is the AG5 a decent handgun for the whole game? I've found rifles and AG6-10 for sale, are those enough of an improvement over the AG5 you start with to warrant buying and using?2, Lockpicks. What's the difference with the basic, advanced, etc lockpick kits?3. Making money, I'm enjjoying things immensely and got to level 10 and got ambush, which is awesome fun. But I'm short on money and don't get much for stuff I find. I've a charisma of 10 (11)So is there anything I can do to earn more money fairly quickly or?

I have already posted on here how to get it to work on VipMud, but here is another post for those who may not have saw it earlier: (note, this is using version 2.0.16, the latest version to my knowledge) 1. Go to the main screen of mud characters by pressing ctrl+o.2. Press ctrl+a to add a new character. 3. In the character name, put in Login username password (exact syntax) of your chosen account. 4. Put the character reference (ref) as anything you want, but it must not have any spaces, like the character name, otherwise you will get an error message that tells you very plainly, that this reference cannot, and must not, have spaces in it. 5. In the mud name, host name, etc, put in the required information that is needed to connect to the mud. 6. When connecting to your newly-made character, just type login at the account screen. (Note how the word login has no spaces.)7. You should receive a momentary pause after entering this short string of text, but it should accept your log-in string as "good" according to the game’s assessment. From there, everything should be straightforward, according to the instructions provided on the mud. I'm just exploring trying to find people. I actually like that you can craft from the get go and it's actually a good way to get money. Navigating around is tricky since not evverything has directions, but...you learn things soon enough. You can level up without doing any combat at all and just crafting, you want artisan as a class and focus on skills, potery's a god one to start with and gets decent money.

It's rather annoying that it's no longer working in Vipmud. I wonder what the problem is, since I've never experienced that with a mud before. Ah well, lots of other good muds to play, and if I ever fancy mucking about with MushZ long enough to remove all the alter stuff and use it as a client maybe I'll give this one a go.Oh and I know lots of people  use Mushclient, I admit I'm just feeling a bit lazy when it comes to motivating myself to engage in lots of config tweaks these days.

@Superb: I got plenty of questions, and I'm not Dark...Did I screw up by picking Agent as a class? Yes you can craft things, it takes skils. I like the leveling system honestly and there's a great need for crafters (techs and stuff yeah)

@Dark,I'm honestly not sure if it's VIP or the mud.I'm 90% sure that in 2016, when I used to play,  I used Vip, but that was Vip 1 and...it worked.I just tested it with Vip and mush and yes, vip it's...broken?I have no idea, but apparently with mush it works.About skills, you can train anywhere.Train stat name, or train skill name.When it comes to levels, Leveling is pretty fast, and you can use something called inspiration for...buffs.There are a few people on, if you log on they should be able to help.Have fun, I know that I loved the game!

Okay I don't know what is going on here. I went to the website and put in my email address, I then tried to register and I am repeatedly told "invalid command"I am not sure if this is the vipmud problem since I tried typing "login", and wasn't told invalid command. I tried register in all caps as the example said. Whether this is the vipmud problem or just this game having a really busted registration system I don't know.
