I was actually wondering where to get csr, both the basic and premium versions? I tried to find the app on the play store to see how much it even costs, but can't find it anywhere.

Yep, the dot order  is definitely different.I hope they have multiple dot configurations, similar to what Swift Braille's got.

Re: braille screen input on android

Ok could someone please give me an explanation of how to generally type braille on android? Like how am I supposed to tell it that I mean the dot 5 for "ea" rather than dot 2 or that I mean to type a not "ea"? I'm doing what I used to do to type braille with those old braillers. I can type l, or "123456 as for" but can't like type c, d, b, or such letters because it thinks I mean 3 6 or 2 5 instead of 1 4. Hope I explained clear enough for you to help me. Thanks a lot

Re: braille screen input on android

Once this thing gets to a point where I can do something with it, I'll consider switching over because I have gotten so sick of apple's annoying and unwillingness to fix important bugs that have been in iOS for years and years now.Primary example is that stupid bug where you lose speech out of no where if using the Alex voice. Fucking retarded man. And this is the main issue right? Apple knows they have some of us by the balls and know we won't switch because things like BSi, so they know they can get away with say "Oh well fuck them, they'll just stay with us no matter how many shits we break." Look there was another bug(thank god it got solved) but how the fuck it made it to release? I don't know. Anyway, the bug where after ending a phone call on iPhone your voiceover would lose speech and you would either have to call yourself back from another device, turn off your phone and turn it back and and on the new phones I'm worried about triggering SOS.anyway, enough ranting for the day

Re: braille screen input on android

Thing is, this is just a first beta, so don't assume it is all basic and does not have many gestures. I should remind you that the first release of IOS 8 had just as limited braille screen input, you could not delete words, you could not quickly switch inputs or use too many languages. So let some time pass and see what Google does with it.

Re: braille screen input on android

@4 If using GBoard, switch keyboards by holding down the Spacebar.@5 i do agree, that CSR and ABK are a much better combo. Even Apple's own braille Screen Input has much more gestures than the Talkback one! (8 gestures for the Talkback Braille Screen Keyboard, to be exact.)Speaking of CSR, I'll be repurchasing it for another 3 years at some point. It'll probably be sometime during the late Summer, April at the earliest.@6 There is currently no change log as far as I know (not a public one anyway...)In addition, no word on multi-finger gestures, that remains to be either Voice Assistant and/or commentary (if ya get the premium version.) They're called Multi-Part Gestures instead of Multi-Fingered gestures.

Re: braille screen input on android

Well, I'm just gonna give what I mentioned on the Android Talk And Deals List yesterday:So,I gave the new Talkback 8.2.0 beta a spin (particularly in regards to the Braille Keyboard.) If you are use to ‘Screen Away Mode” from IO’s own Braille Screen Input feature, you’ll not have as much problem. If however you are one who prefers ‘Table Top Mode”, ya may have some issues at first.By the way, the way you set it up is via the normal Talkback Settings screen, and look for the new Braille Screen Input section. Once there, tap on the Braille Screen Input Setup button. Oh, and here's link to the latest Talkback 8.2.0 Public Beta, from APK mirror.Google made an oopsy for releasing that one, as it were.

Hi all, i wanted to know if any one on here can give me the best possible braille screen input app available on android?I tried using a.b.k, but it does not work for me, and i have a multy touch level of 6. I tried soft braille keyboard. it works fine, but i am afraid that it does not get updated any more, so we will slowly loose support for this one. Are there any other braille screen input methods on android any one can recommend me?thanks and best regards!
