daisy books Hello!Recently there was a post here about accessible daisy players for windows and it got me to thinking. More specificly it reminded me to finish the upgrade to calliope, the media player which kind of fell flat and that I'd been slowly improving for the last who knows how long.I figured one thing I could add to this was being able to read daisy books.Easy, I thought.Great feature, I thought.HA! HA! HA!I found out that daisy runs on an interesting xml syste which I am actually slowly coming to grips with.I've downloaded the examples from the Daisy Organisations website and have been using them to write my parser for the program.then I dug out some old Daisy CD's and realised... They're in a completely different structure!After I got done bashing my head into the desk, I got to thinking, and modified the parser somewhat.Then I scrapped it and started again because it was really nasty.Now I've got a working version I was wondering if you guys would help me out.Basically all i need is examples. Re: Free daisy books and questions hello, A nice method I use to find free books is by typing the name of the book and - download or .pdf on google, and it works sometimes. I found many of my booksfor my school on pdf and converted them to microsoft word for my convenience. However, there are some problems, for example, the books may be scanned in a low quality resolution, and then the results may not be perfect. Also, many books could be image pdfs documents, and it makes reading rather difficult. I am going to check out book share now. If you live in the US you will probably get access to more books. Any other places it's hard to get access on bookshare. Plus if your a student in school or in college you get bookshare for free. If your not a student you have to pay $50 a year but on the bright side you get access to the full library.All you need to do is to show bookshare that your blind or low-vision whatever the case may be and you'll get your membership. You can get daisy books or brf if you have access to some kind of notetaker or braille display. Any other places I don't know I only use bookshare or bard. There's probably a lot of books that you can get from torrents but I wouldn't recommend that unless you want to get loaded down with viruses.Hth.
