Re: iCloud Documents Question
Re: iCloud Documents Question Yeah, it's that apps themselves have that entitlement, and hidden preferences which don't take up much space just won't show up as anything other than using iCloud storage for "Documents and data". If the apps themselves don't provide an interface, then basically you turn off iCloud for them. I don't use iCloud for docs & data, so actually, I have nothing at all except Mail showing up in Settings, and I actually use my iCloud mail account. Re: iCloud Documents Question
Re: iCloud Documents Question Yeah, I guess it's not a big deal. Still, I thought it was supposed to show you all the data in your account. Why is some of it hiden? Is it a bug? While playing with the mobile documents folder, I tried deleting some empty folders with app names I no longer use. Oddly, the folder appeared in finder immediately after I deleted it. Oh well, I'm just kind of annoyed I have random app preferences I can't delete taking up iCloud storage. I guess I can always turn off iCloud syncing for specific apps to get around the issue. Re: iCloud Documents Question
Re: iCloud Documents Question Don't worry, be happy. Really, the storage shown is good enough to be practical, and you don't need to do anything you can't already do in Settings. Moreover, just because an app can use docs and data storage doesn't mean there is any, or that it will be accessible through Drive.Still, if you really want to know, and if you're careful, dig around in "~/Library/Mobile Documents". "com~apple~CloudDocs" is your iCloud Drive. You could then delete the stuff you wished vanquished.iCloud Mail always takes up a tiny amount of storage, and sadly it can't be disabled once enabled. That doesn't mean you've got to use it, though; forward all your mail to an invalid address and it'll bounce, and change your Apple's primary email address to your true one and ignore the iCloud alias. If you never used Mail, I wouldn't worry about it, even though it is annoying. iCloud Documents Question
iCloud Documents Question Hello,Well, this is going to sound really strange, but I'm getting annoyed with iCloud storage. I am finding apps on my iPhone that say they are using iCloud documents and data. These are things like Google Docs, VLC, BlindSquare, etc. However, when I go into manage storage in iOS, I don't see data for any of these apps. If I open iCloud Drive, it doesn't show these files either. When I look on my Mac, it says documents are using 1.5 MB and mail is using 11 kb. What the heck?I don't have any messages in my iCloud mailboxes and the other data isn't user accessible? I'm confused. Is there any way to remove this? I think it even has hidden data saved from old apps that I don't have installed anymore. I know this isn't a big deal, but what's going on here? Is there a way to remove this junk? I know I could turn off sync, but I don't want to do that. I just want to delete any junk that may be saved somewhere. Any help? Should I j ust stop worrying about this? Still, I don't know. I thought the documents and data section was supposed to show you every third party application that was saving content.
