I don't know if DeSmuME supports Lua scripting. Also, if you want to make that game accessible to read things like the PCA scripts does, I think you need a disassembly of the game.

I can't even begin to say how good the soundtracks for all of the games are! Nintendo really did us a solid with those games. In my opinion, the Rhythm Heaven series is one of the most under-rated franchises out there, to my knowledge anyway, no wonder those journalists praised the game so much.

Oddly enough, I actually never would have started buying rhythm heaven games if I hadn't played a pirated rom of the game that started it all first. Prior to my experience with rhythm tengoku, I really thought that because it was a rhythm game, that it would be just another game like dance dance revolution or elite beat agent, so I didn't jump on the hype train when nintendo was giving free copies of rhythm heaven gold to game journalists and they were going on and on about how cool it was! My favorite song from the first game is the bonfire dance. I never heard gba music with vocals in stereo and sounding so good! And that's not the only song like that on the game either.

In the ips English patch for rhythm tengoku, called rhythm heaven silver, you can see all of the game's english text if you look in the file editor. If someone could figure out a way to use that text with visual boy advance similar to how pca works, that would be amazing.
