When you install a game, by default steam will create a shortcut to the desktop so you can find it easily. So try opening the start menu, pressing down arrow, S, finding a folder named Steam, and seeing if the games are in there.You can also try creating the shortcuts by hand. Re: steam is a complete mess Hi.The only serious issue I'm having with Steam is when installing games. Games are being installed without making shortcuts on the Desktop and in the Start menu. When I OCR the install screen, I can read the checkboxes, but i am not able to check them. I can't get focus on them by using the tab key or by using the arrow kes. That's the only inaccessible part I'm having issues with, and therefore I only buy games from Steam if it's my only option.@Dark: Are you using the screen review mode or the object navigation in NVDA?Press NVDA key and page up or page down to choose object mode. Then press NVDA shift left or right arrows to check if it reads anything which makes sense.If that doesn't read anything at all, then what does it read when using OCR? You can do that by pressing NVDA R and just read by using the arrow keys, and close the window by pressing Escape.Just mentioning all that to make sure you have given it a try before giving up. You can restart the app and install the update, or you can close it and install the update later. Re: steam is a complete mess I managed to install steam a while ago and even played a blind legend and sequence storm. Then however suddenly the client stopped working, as did my games. I went to the steam website, and couldn't log in with my password, so changed it, now I can't get the stupid client to work at all, not notewrite, not OCR with nvda, it is just a confusing mess, and the games that I bought do not work anymore. If people want to play poke and hope with this inaccessible piece of garbage, fair enough. But personally I have far better things to do with my time right about now, and far better things to do with my money than give them to a company who have repeatedly been advised about access features and do not even respond to the most serious of emails or petitions from established industry professional games advocates. I've found its scan mode to be much more effective at navigating through Steam than OCR is.Also, sometimes you have to focus your mouse's pointer on something to bring up a menu (such as the Library, Game and Store buttons on the top of the window), or click on it instead of pressing enter. On a desktop layout, you move the mouse pointer with nvda+NumPadDivide, right click with NumPadMultiply and left click with NumPadMultiply.
