My new view about spoken menus in mainstream games

Hello all. So if you have been on this forum, you have seen games like Crackdown 3 and Division 2 getting spoken menus. I used to think this was what made a game worth money, but that's not the case. Is it bad that they add this feature? Not at all. It's a step in the right direction, and it's honestly the best thing they can do. It's good to see that devs aren't just jumping at accessibility and are taking the little baby steps to begin to understand how it works, and eventually, we may get more than spoken menus. Although spoken menus are good, they're not everything

I have found it nearly impossible to check game history, so if I miss something, I'm not gonna know what it is. That's not what I mean though. I have the sound pack for Cosmic. Would I be able to install the pack for Alter as well? If I want to play Cosmic with its sound pack, then I want to go play Alter, can I switch between both of those and have a sound pack?

You do not need the mouse in this game. For the most part, you use your standard RP commands to move. W to walk forward, S to walk backwards and so on. Another big thing I would do is once you get the thief and go to Gwen's house, give the thief one of those blades. His little dagger that he starts off with is not that good, and you would more than likely not pass the lake with it. Now the biggest thing. Keep your skills trained. Just like many games of this style, you get XP points that can help you improve. Use them. Now, something I almost forgot, always make sure you save your game. Whenever you train a skill or complete a quest, do control S and choose your save file. If you don't have a file make one and save your game

A question about mainstream video games with a blind main character

HiSo as many know, many games have main characters who are blind, and mainstream video games are know exception to this. The game Beyond Eyes is a prime example of this. I have one question though. Since it's about a blind character, why do you navigate around by looking at the screen? That's almost like someone saying they want to make a game about a deaf character and basing it off audio

Addressing the community in regards to mainstream accessibility

Hello everyone. I am addressing mainstream accessibility, but not any particular game or feature. We will get to the main discussion in a minute,  but I need to clear the air of one thing first. This topic is not designed to call any person or group out for things they have done or said. If people start doing this, I would like the mods to shut it down. Now, here we go. Why is it that whenever a game has accessibility, if it's not to our expectations, we have to get mad at the developers? This is different from the post in July about punishing developers making their games accessible. Although it is similar, it is still different. The game  being discussed wasn't accessible at all. Anyways, I'm getting off topic. This is addressing games that are partially accessible, or where the features don't work like we wanted them to. Let's take Madden 20 for example. For the most part, that game is accessible. However, one thing I have heard people complain about is the quality of the voice reading the menus. I admit I do agree that it isn't the highest quality, but as Liam said in a stream, we have no right to be choosy. So whenever a mainstream developer takes the time to implement accessibility into their products, instead of complaining about it not working the way we want it to, why don't we show a little appreciation? As you see in my signature, they don't have to do it. I don't know coding, but from what I hear, there are a lot of variables that go into making something accessible. So it's not easy as we may think. If developers see this and want to comment, please do. Maybe an explanation of the work that has to go into implementing these features might help people understand it. So, whenever a mainstream dev takes the time to add accessibility features, Thank them. Being polite can really go a long way. Are you going to dislike some things about the way things work? Sure. Nothing will be perfect. In that case, suggest it in a respectful way. Does that mean it will happen? Nobody knows. But it doesn't hurt to try. Anyways, that's all for now. Yeah the settings icon in PS2 is in the bottom center of your screen. Once you click it you can use Voiceover. FYI, the main menu options from left to right are level select, options, and info. They are all along the bottom of the screen. VO unfortunately doesn't work with the PS2 main menu and it works with all other games. The only VO bug I've found in another game is in The NightJar where pressing Select Level with Voiceover enabled makes the app crash

Yeah. although the spoken menus aren't much, it is a step in the right direction. And who says MineCraft couldn't be accessible? People said that about GTA V, didn't they? Then look what happened. A mod came out that added accessibility to the game. Is everything accessible? Is everything perfect? No. However, it's a step in the right direction and goes to show that anything can be done

This topic was a waste of everyone's time. Sam won't be bringing it back, at least not any time soon. He doesn't have to because he was providing the game free of charge. If it was a paid game or had paid items, I could maybe understand people's frustrations if they put money into it, but as no one had to pay a single penny for that game, we just need to accept that it's gone

I would like to try Swamp but I don't have the money to buy the online account.And if you want something back, why not ask for something more stable like anyaudio? Anyaudio was something that there are no unauthorized forks of, and it was actually a cool site.So now, just grow up, realize that RS isn't coming back, and let this topic die
