I'd like to put in a plug for Emotiva amps. http://www.emotiva.com They are an up and coming designer manufacturer who designs in Nashville and manufacturers in China. The value to cost ratio is off the charts. Any one looking for a great amp at low cost would be remiss in not auditioning their products. They only sell internet direct and offer free 30 day return/trial. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] 48k/24bit Flac ok on SB3, not on Softsqueeze?
Hi, I've just noticed that 48k/24bit flac files play fine on my SB3s but only play white noise using Softsqueeze? Is there anything I can do in my config to fix? I'm running my slimserver on Linux. Softsqueeze on Windows Vista client. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] SB3 Classical FLAC 96k/24b
Hi, A happy SB3 owner times three here. In a recent post on Audio Asylum a link was given to some free downloads of Classical music in the FLAC format at 96k/24b. The link is here: http://www.highdeftapetransfers.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATSCategory=14 I downloaded and tested these files with my SB3's running the latest firmware. They all played well and sounded quite good. Can I assume I am hearing them at their full resolution? What I am confused about is whether the SB3 does any downsampling of the 96k/24b source? One of my SB3s is hooked up to a Benchmark DAC1 which supports 96k/24b. Is the downsample still applied to the digital output or will my SB3 pass on the full sample to my DAC1? I quickly browsed the web page and was unclear about requirements. Does the plugin only run on a Slimserver running on Windows? Or, does the plugin run on a Linux Slimserver but the tools required to run the room correction utilities only run on Windows? Yes, I have looked at this but it illustrates my point in that it is less than definitive in in its information. For example there is no information on what bit rates and sample rates are supported by FLAC. It does not differentiate that some codecs can be supported depending on what OS the slimserver is hosted on. I'm just asking for clear complete display of information.
