Re: [Aus-soaring] Mammatus Cloud, political correctness...
problem it had to stop using it as the world became politically correct That is so silly if it is true, America maybe, but not Oz? Then words like Mammal, would be right out. Or: Galaxy, Mammillary Bodies, Nipple (used in a engineering sense). Whatever next: little cloth booties around the release knob so we don't get titillated (oops, another bad word, damn, sorry ... ___ Aus-soaring mailing list Aus-soaring@lists.internode.on.net To check or change subscription details, visit: http://lists.internode.on.net/mailman/listinfo/aus-soaring

Michael, The photo was a photo a well endowed you lady with her top off; it was inserted into possibly 100 cloud identification photos used for the training and examining trainee ATS officers who were to be qualified as Aviation Meteorology Observers - a little harmless humour during a boring lecture until you start training young ladies. The world has changed, mostly for the better, but sometimes it also nice to remember the way it was :) The main point here is I remember this lesson from over 30 years ago so it was an effective lesson. The other one I remember is how to tell the difference between warm and cold fronts on a weather map (barbs and boobs) boobs are always warm fronts; bet you never forget that one now either :) - once again not politically correct in 2008. The lecturers name was Mal Glover, he was a great teacher, great memories.
