Re: How is Java RMI used in Axis services?

Can anyone offer insight into how Axis makes use of RMI? This might be from

Hi Eric,

I believe this is because Axis is an implementation of JAX-RPC (Java API
for XML based Remote Procedure Call?). Rather than inventing new
interfaces to represent remote services, exceptions etc Sun decided to
use the existing ones from RMI. As far as I'm aware there is no actual
use of RMI within Axis other than the use of these interfaces as
mandated by the JAX-RPC

http://java.sun.com/webservices/jaxrpc/index.jsp,

From the spec :

Each method of the mapped Java interface is required to declare
java.rmi.RemoteException in its throws clause. A RemoteException is the
common superclass for exceptions related to a remote method invocation.
Examples are: java.rmi.MarshalException, java.rmi.ConnectException.
Refer to the J2SE [2] documentation for more details on the RemoteException.

HTH,

Tom

Is there anything wrong with my deployment?

2005-11-27 Thread Chang Zhou

Hi, Axis community,

I have got a lot help from the community in the past
few months. Thanks a lot for the community.

I tried to deploy a test web service using Axis, and I
have successfully deployed my web service at here:

http://137207.234.209:8080/axis/services/Amazon?wsdl

I can use WSDL2Java to generate the stub class and run
the web service in this way. However the generated files are put into folders
like this:

D:\workdir\workspace\thesis\_209\_234\_207\_137\axis\services\Amazon

Also, I get a package Amazon like this:

package _209._234._207._137.axis.services.Amazon;

But I didnt deploy my service as a package like
this in the very beginning. This is my wsdd:

==

deployment
xmlns=http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/
xmlns:java=http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java

 service name=Amazon
provider=java:RPC

parameter name=className value=services.amazon.Amazon/

parameter name=allowedMethods value=*/

beanMapping qname=myNS:AmazonBook
xmlns:myNS=urn:Amazon
languageSpecificType=java:services.amazon.AmazonBook/

 /service

/deployment

==

I have 2 classes: AmazonBook and Amazon, and I put
them into a package services.amazon.* .

I dont know why WSDL2Java will generate the
corresponding java code in a package like this:

package _209._234._207._137.axis.services.Amazon

Is there anything wrong in my deployment? You can try
WSDL2Java tool to generate the java codes, and you will see what I got.

Thank you very much.
