John, I suspected that might be the case, although all baptismal records
state the Miranda's are from S.Jose, Maria do Carmo civil registry states
she's from Sam Jorge...but it doesn't say which place. I'll have to
research further.

Jorge? I ask because their daughter, Maria do Carmo, is from S. Jorge. I
have done some extensive research on the Mirandas from S. Miguel, only.
