Well, I don't read/speak/write Portuguese but when I visited my cousin in
Lisbon I noticed he never put ending on his words.  His last name is Costa
and when he says it it sounds like Cost and he pronounced Santos as
Sant.

Every male member of my father's family for at least a few generations used 
Jacintho as a middle name.  Those who came to America changed it to Jessie.

My great grandmother's stepmother's first name was Justina. (b 1847, Norte 
Grande, Sao Jorge)
