I think FTM should be able to handle 11000+. Does anyone else here use it?

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Looking for family info from Santa Maria

2015-08-12 Thread Denis Meals
Isiah:
António's parents were married 1 July 1885. Using the link I previously
gave, you can search forward, and well as back, about every 2-3 years to
find his additional brothers and sisters. And if you are very ambitious,
skip back about 20 years +/- 10 years to find the parents births.

If you will look further, you'll find records of birth/baptisms, marriages,
and deaths of all Santa Maria's citizens for the period 1640-1906. This
is a huge, formidable, and at the sametime, satisfying task.

RE: [AZORES-Genealogy] Family tree make and large genealogy reports

2015-08-12 Thread Richard Francis Pimentel
Pam, I have not used FTM in several years but possibly the problem is that the
report has not been told to include only the direct family line. I recall that
there was an include persons in the report where you choose only certain people
and not everyone. If it is not told then the program will try to include
everyone and that may be the problem.

I am still using it. Switched to the Mac version last year. My file contains
over 50,000 people.
When you run reports, you can be specific. Like Rick said, the report might be
trying to include everyone in the tree. I've never had that issue of crashing.

[AZORES-Genealogy] FTM Issue with Windows 10

2015-08-12 Thread 'Sam Koester' via Azores Genealogy
Hello all;  This may be a bit off subject but; since others are talking about
FTM issues, I thought I would ask if anyone else has been unable to run FTM
2014 with Windows 10.  From all that I have read and in contacting Nova
Development and Ancestry.com, FTM 2014 is NOT compatible with Windows 10.  They
say I would have to roll back to FTM 16 for it to work with Windows 10.  Not
sure what I would lose in my records that are on FTM 2014 if I were to
uninstall and reinstall FTM 16 so, haven't done that.  I'm just curious if
anyone has been successful in running FTM 2014 with Windows 10 and if anyone
has any idea when/if they plan on doing FTM 2015? Thanks to all, Sam (Camas, WA)

RE: [AZORES-Genealogy] FTM Issue with Windows 10

2015-08-12 Thread Diane George
I have been able to run FTM 2014 with Windows 10. I also installed a recent
update for FTM and it is still working. I don’t use it routinely, but it is
synced with Ancestry and the sync worked, adding one update from my Ancestry
tree, a person and a source.

Ancestry.com shows a message saying that it is not compatible with the new Edge
browser, but I have used it to search and review hints with no problems except
the message that pops up saying it is not compatible with Edge. If that’s a
problem for anyone using Windows 10 (e.g., you don’t have another browser like
Chrome or Firefox installed, click on the three dots in the upper right corner
of the Edge screen beneath the “X.” used for closing the window. Select “Open
with Internet Explorer” from the menu that appears. A new window in Internet
Explorer will open for the page you were on with all the functionality,
bookmarks, etc., that you had in IE before the upgrade.
