Hi Eric. I really appreciate the help you've given me several times over the 
years. Yeah, Sebastiao is my mystery-man, I just can't seem to find any 
certainty in my Pimentel line beyond him.  I've looked at the marriage book 
(kindle version) till I'm cross eyed, but just can't find him or his parents.  
If he was 79(ish) when he died, that would put his birth around 1813, so now 
I'm going to start looking at the Santa  Cruz baptismos and see if I find 
anything around that time, +/- 10 years.  Those particular records are pretty 
hard to read, but who knows...maybe I'll find some clues.  Wish me luck!

 parents and siblings albeit most if not all without baptismal records due 
 to missing/ending paper trail for this Parish of Santa Cruz.  I suspect

 Lopes line is from Agua d'Alto but have not followed up on it as it is not 
 my direct line.

Mary,

 I have found researching Flores over the last twenty years that the
surnames are not always recorded the same way on all documents. The alcunha
part ( Queiro, Batacao, etc) is often left off some records.

The parents are sometimes recorded wrong also. Not surprising 70 or 80
years later , often in a a different town.

I looked at the obit record you referenced.

Looking through the Flores marriage book, I can not find any marriage for
those parents or for Sebastiao Pimentel and Maria da Trindade.

The place they reference is Ribeira dos Barqueiros, part of the parish of
the town of Santa Cruz

"fez os exorcismo a Mel" ...page torn...? presumably it says filho de(?)

JR, you are right about Isabel Lopes.  Margaret, Dionisio Fragoso's
daughter, Catarina Lopes, is my 9th g-grandmother. I would appreciate
anything you
have.  I believe I found Dionisio's first son, Manoel, however there is
something about the first line that confuses me. The record is poor--bottom
left.

John, I don't have much on this couple, other then the marriage record as
per Sandra's link. The Mother of the bride is Isabel Lopes as confirmed by
the baptismal records of Dionisio Fragoso and Isabel Lopes' children.

Sandra I'm wondering what your relationship to this couple's parents might
be?  If you're interested I can email you what I have on the Fragoso
parents and siblings albeit most if not all without baptismal records due
to missing/ending paper trail for this Parish of Santa Cruz.  I suspect the
Lopes line is from Agua d'Alto but have not followed up on it as it is not
my direct line.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Why was the paternal ancestor name column deleted from the Azores DNA project

I would like to know why the paternal ancestor column no longer appears in 
the Azores DNA project. Without that column in my opinion the project is 
fairly useless.

I don't think you missed anything, it's just a difficult record. I do know 
that Isabel is Isabel Lopes, but certainly not from reading that record! I 
believe all these Fragosos appear to be related. But proving it is another 
matter. I think Manuel and Margaret have Fragoso ancestors. The majority 
appear to be in Lagoa.
