Nancy Jean there is another book but for some reason it's not loading on my
page. It's another on Sao Jorge but it's not the one showing. It may be the
one on the microfilm though, it used to be on the page with the others but
it wasn't today.

Anyway, there are about 5 unpublished manuscripts written in the 17 &

histories. Two for Sao Jorge, a couple for Terceira and one for Graciosa.

 Sean,

Unlike others on this list, I've only been looking at these for 3-4 years
so I haven't seen that many, but it seemed unusual to me. I've seen many
that both bride and groom were native/baptized somewhere else, but one or
both are residents/parishioners where the marriage took place. In this
one, both are listed as parishioners of other parishes.

How common is it that two people from different parishes get married in
another parish that is neither of theirs? Do you think the parents would

Well, if the son-in-law was good for his daughter, then the sister would be
good for him? I had a widowed man marry his widowed mother-in-law. His wife
died in childbirth. He needed someone to help with the kids, so he married

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Re: Very Faded Marriage Record for Capelo

2016-05-12 Thread bsei2816
The groom and parents are natives and parishioners of Divino Espirito Santo
in Feteira; the bride and parents are natives and parishioners of Santa
Barbara in Cedros; so of course they got married in Santissimo Trinidade in
Capelo. Is this splitting the difference?

Also, I see Maria Clara's name as Rosa. It does look different than Rosa
is written for her father's name, but the R does look like the R in
"Ritual" on the next to last line.
