All Ancestry DNA people need to transfer to Family Tree DNA (FTDNA). I will
check and see if I have the directions with me and send them in the
morning. Cheri

I have Ancestry DNA. I’m not really sure how to use it. How would I see your
family tree?
There are several matching names there!

[AZORES-Genealogy] Manuel Furtado (1750s-1813) & Marianna da Trindade (1750s-1823) of Vila Franca & Ponta Garca

2018-06-28 Thread Cheri Mello
To those who descend from Manuel Furtado (born c. 1750s probably Sao Miguel
Arcanjo in Vila Franca) and Marianna da Trindade (born c. 1750s in São
Pedro in Vila Franca)...This couple had a bunch of kids (one baptized at
SMA and one baptized at S.Pedro in VFranca, with the rest born in Ponta
Garca).

I pulled the dispensations for Sao Miguel island from 1770-1775. Only 3
exist and none are Manuel and Marianna. So I checked to see if any of their
kids married cousins so I could pull those dispensations. Not a single kid
married a cousin! Where's a cousin when you need one? So I decided to move
on to the grandkids of Manuel & Marianna. I don't have ALL the grandkids
though.

If you are Manuel & Marianna descendant, can you check your database and
see what you have on your branch for grandkids or great-grandkids of Manuel
& Marianna? If the grandkid or great-grandkid married a cousin, I will pull
the dispensation and maybe we can solve the mystery of who Manuel &
Marianna's parents are. I don't have the time to research grandkids and
great-grandkids all myself to figure out who married a cousin.

My time here is tricky between performances and just other stuff that comes
up with traveling groups. So the sooner you can check your databases, the
sooner I can make plans to pull the dispensations. It may take 2 days for
retrieval, so the sooner the better.

Thanks, Cheri
