the Azores.  I am wondering if you are actually a relative as I have
been told that our family name may have been from Simas...now known as
Simmiss.

I've just listed for this group and noticed all the
posts.

My known routs are on the island of Pico. I was born in
Sao Rouque. My father is from there with his name Gualberto Garcia Simas
with a family home at the rebira da fonte. My mother is from Sao Cateano
with her family home at caminho de Cima with her name Maria Goulart
Cabral. Our family immigrated to the Toronto area with my dads family
immigrating to California.

Does anyone have any historical information on these
families?
