I think the lugar (this place) is the abbreviation for Norte Grande. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Baptism Record Translation Help-Francisco
Diane G, That record is hard. The priest keeps naming so many churches. I don't see a Divino Espirito Santo on Pico. And Sao Mateus on Pico is in Madalena, but I can't make out Madalena in his writing. I think the maternal grandparents are Antonio Carreiro. He's born in October (8bro). More eyes are needed here! [AZORES-Genealogy] Baptism Record Translation Help-Francisco
I am having difficulty translating the following baptism record: http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/FAL-HT-FETEIRA-B-1812-1 829/FAL-HT-FETEIRA-B-1812-1829_item1/P166.html for Francisco. His entry is on the right bottom of the page. Here is what I have: Francisco, son of Francisco Gonsalves, native of Feteira, and his wife Rita Inacia, native of Apostalo de Matheus do Pico, and Frequesia of ? (several words after are unintelligible) , paternal grandparents Manuel Gonsalves and Agada Maria(?), maternal grandparents Antonio Correia and Josefa ? , born on the 25th day of October?, 1822 and baptized on the 3rd day of November, 1822. Godfather Manuel Jose Correia and ? Anna Felicia, daughter of Manuel Jose Correia. The rest makes no sense to me except that I see a few names strung together. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
