[AZORES-Genealogy] Horta passports

2013-11-15 Thread pico
More good news.I asked the CCA about the status of the passports for the Horta district. This includes the islands of Corvo, Flores, Faial and Pico. When my brother was at the archive this past May, the director told him the passports would appear the following month. Well, that surely didn't happen. Here's what they just told me:About the passports books: all of them were already scanned. The Director of this Library asked in october 15th
the permission of the Director Regional da Cultura to send the images
to the Direção Regional da Cultura for publication. So, the decision is
in their hands, not in ours. This might mean the backlog that is starting to clear for all the rest of the church records is then going to be followed by the Horta passports. Maybe also the Angra district passports, but I didn't ask about those.Doug da Rocha HolmesSacramento, CaliforniaPico Terceira Genealogist916-550-1618www.dholmes.com
