Ally,

You'll have to research your family back further in time to tell.  It may be
from a grandparent line and they tacked it on the end.

The rule is, there are no rules.  Only vague guidelines.  Annoying, isn't
it?

I'm confused, agian.
 
Our family name was Vieira Anselmo.  So is the  Vieira my Grt  Grt 
Grandfather's name and Anselmo my  Grt Grt. grandmother's name, or the other 
way 
around?
