* We finally set up a Special Interest Group for Azores researchers in the
San Ramon Valley Genealogical Society. The first meeting will be on February
17, 2016, at 1:15 pm in the Danville Family History Center, 2949 Stone
Valley Rd, Alamo, in the Relief Society Room.

At the first meeting, we will determine if there is enough interest to
continue with regular meetings. We will discuss resources for Azores
researchers, including databases, digital images, help for translation of
records and help each other to figure out some of the information,
particularly in the Portuguese language records from Centro de Conhecimento
dos Açores (CCA). We will also discuss some of the social media resources
for researchers, as well as DNA sites. Bring your laptops. We usually have
room to set them up unless we get a very large group. There is a wi-fi
connection so we can get online.

Let me know if you can make it (digeorg...@hotmail.com) and tell your
friends (and relatives) about it. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Diane George
