RE: [AZORES-Genealogy] Passports on culturacores.azores.gov

2016-06-16 Thread Richard Francis Pimentel
Here is an example of a marriage I found interesting It is marriage #9 on the
right side
http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-RG-RIBEIRINHA-C-1860-1865/SMG-RG-RIBEIRINHA-C-1860-1865_item1/P55.html

Manuel da Estrella is 18 and Rosa Caetana is 48. I found this odd so I searched
and found the birth of Manuel and Rosa. Three years later Manuel is dead and
Rosa Lives on another 20 years.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Passports on culturacores.azores.gov

2016-06-15 Thread Cheri Mello
The 3 ports for the Azores are Angra, Horta, and Ponta Delgada on Sao
Miguel. So that is where they went to register too.

Most of our ancestors left from the nearest port. But if they needed to get
going right at that time, they may have went with the next boat no matter
which port it sailed from.

If going to HI,they left from Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel.
