Cathy, I think your José de Sousa Simões and Antonia Francisca also went by José de Sousa and Antonia de Resende. They married in São Roque on 14 feb 1768. José de Sousa was the son of Simão de Sousa and Antonia da Costa. Antonia de Resende was the daughter of Simão do Monte and Francisca de Resende.
You should look for all the children born to José de Sousa and Antonia de Resende in São Roque in order to see if Antonia de Resende also appears as Antonia Francisca in the baptism records. This José de Sousa with the patronymic Simões is the only one who married an Antonia in that time period.
