Not sure what you are trying to zoom in on. If you are using a pc, push control and roll the wheel on your mouse. One way is bigger the other is smaller. I hope it helps. Ernesto do Canto clearly wrote Joao Martins in his index. I have no idea when Canto did this (1880s? 1890s?) But then I see Rodrigo Rodrigues writing (and on the front page of the index, he wrote that he made corrections in 1929). Rodrigues put a ? after Martins and wrote, "ou Alvares (?). freguesia da Achadinha." So I looked at it and I saw Martins. Then I stared at it some more, and I thought I could see the Alvares too (or probably Alz), but every name on the page the priest wrote an "A," not an "a," so I started to lean towards Martins more. I'd have to stare at it awhile to see if I could make out Roiz. My brain is not doing it (but I need lunch right about now). The other thing on Canto's notes...on the bride's mom, he wrote Anna and left the last name blank. It's Rodrigues that went in and added "de Paiva" to the index. And there is that solution or wash on "de Paiva." Hmmm, it was Rodrigo Rodrigues, with the solution, in the archives in 1929! (Sorry, I love Clue and couldn't resist). So now, Sao Miguel researchers can take an educated guess as to who put the solution on the books back in the day!
