Maria Sampaio August 20, 2012   Dartmouth - Maria Sampaio, age 87 years, died 
Monday, August 20, 2012 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. Mrs. Sampaio was the 
beloved wife of the late Joao Sampaio. Maria was the loving mother of Laudalina 
Medeiros, Ana Amaral both of Dartmouth, Fatima Furtado of St Michael, Azores, 
Eduarda Medeiros, Christina Pereira and Joao Antonio Sampaio all of New 
Bedford. She is also survived by 3 brothers, 4 sisters, 13 grandchildren, 6 
great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 


  Mrs. Sampaio was a daughter of the late Maria (Mota) and Manuel Jose 
Frias. She was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and has lived in this area 
since 1980. Maria was a homemaker. 


  Mrs. Sampaio's funeral will be Thursday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 
Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at Our 
Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Maria (Frias) Sampaio, 87,  who was born in Sao Miguel.  I cannot send any
more info on it as I do not subscribe to their online paper.  Her husband's
name was Joao Sampaio and it does not say if he is from Sao Miguel or not
but looks like he could be if anyone wants to research them further.

As I am going through the records, I notice they have different names than
what I have seen on Sao Miguel, which is a nice change.  It is not always
Manuel, Maria, Anna etc  But you would think with a name like Bertoleza
Luis, I would be able to find her LOL no such luck, she must be in another
church.  Also is Sampiero (sp might be wrong)  Is that a surname or a
profession?
