[AZORES-Genealogy] marriage blessing

During the 40's  50's, here in Hayward, no marriages were blessed in the 
church during Lent, from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday.
 
 I think someone who had to marry was married in the rectory.  The pastor was 
Portuguese so that may have had something to do with the practice.

My grandparents married in 1933.  My grandfather was Catholic and my
grandmother was not (she was RLDS).  They were married in the rectory. They
raised my dad Catholic and my dad remembers going to his mom's RCIA or
whatever it was called then in the late 1930s.  I should investigate further
and see what kind of blessing (or not) was there.
