[AZORES-Genealogy] marriage blessing
During the 40's 50's, here in Hayward, no marriages were blessed in the church during Lent, from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday. I think someone who had to marry was married in the rectory. The pastor was Portuguese so that may have had something to do with the practice. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] marriage blessing
My grandparents married in 1933. My grandfather was Catholic and my grandmother was not (she was RLDS). They were married in the rectory. They raised my dad Catholic and my dad remembers going to his mom's RCIA or whatever it was called then in the late 1930s. I should investigate further and see what kind of blessing (or not) was there. Cheri -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to azores+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com.
