Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] hawaii immigrants

2016-07-02 Thread Aaron Pereira
The marriage record of Antonio and Theresa(attached in previous post) is nice
because it lists the parish(Santa Ana) he is from is Rio de Janeiro. If you
find Antonio's record in Brazil, maybe it will list the parish Domingos is from
in Porto...and since his (Domingos) wife is from Santa Cruz, Lagoa, maybe he
married there before he went to Brazil.

The Rio de Janeiro parish records are online, but, they're not searchable. You
have to go through the records one by one.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] hawaii immigrants

2016-07-01 Thread Shirley Allegre

Theresa: This is what I found in CONSULADO GERAL DE PORTUGAL EM HAWAII:
Passenger # 3636, Antonio Marques Carvalho, age 23, from Sao Miguel island.
SPOUSE
Theresa de Jesus, age 23
son Manoel, 11 months old.
Ship: BRAUNFELS
arrived Hawaii on 4 April 1895

This would put Antonio & Theresa born about 1872.
Manoel would have been born about March 1894.

Have you tried looking for them on a census for Hawaii??
& Have you tried looking for the birth for Antone in Hawaii?
Or try the PASSPORT lists out of Sao Miguel Azores.

I have in my files a lot of CARVALHO from RIBEIRA QUENTE, Ponta Garca,
Feteira, Maia, and Nordestinho.

Hope this helps a little. Shirley in CA
