No sound on RDTV_ep1_5mins.ogg until 2:21 when the Beeb micro talk starts??

Also video in wrong aspect ratio had to be set manually to wide-screen.

Tried on several players - please advise. Good first effort though.

Pity - as .ogg is a better container, shorter download than the .flv
or .mov I wanted the 5 min version.

This one:

Can anyone confirm which of the others works OK?

The Theora version is already online, along with Flash and Quicktime

intend to have a lower quality MPEG-4 part 2 version (e.g. Xvid) and a
 higher quality MPEG-4 part 10 version (e.g. x264) available. MP3
and/or Vorbis audio-only options might also be desirable for those on
 the move/commute.

Yes we were planning to do a Mpeg4 layer 10 aka a H.264 video/AAC+ audio
version. Then a Xvid version which will play nicely on lower cpu devices
like my phone and xbmc on a xbox. WMV should keep windows and xbox360
 users happy.

The 30-minute .mov version seems not to be there?

Also, count me in for wanting an RSS feed too. I'm interested, but
lazy; I'll be much more likely to watch if I can just subscribe to it
as a podcast with iTunes.

I'm ex archives myself (but only from 6 years back- hardly the old school)
but I think I an help point you in the right direction. I'm at KW this
week, then away for a few weeks, but I can make email introductions. Maybe
help with interviews when I get back.

Yes please! I have a bit of time through the NoTube project to help chase
interviewees or ideas too. But how far back can we go? Anybody got contacts
with folk from the very early days of the BBC archive. When did things first
start being catalogued carefully, and how, etc...?

Nearby in the Web - http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/catalogue.shtml
 http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/catalogue.shtml?chapter=5 ... great
interviews, but it seems like only snippets from something perhaps longer
are online? I love hearing about the example searches people ask of the
archive, ... really stretches the capabilities of even modern metadata /
search tools, and makes you think about what must be buried in the BBC
databases if only we knew how to find it again.

It worked for me but something weird is going on - the audio from the
Kevin Rose section was loud and clear and then it suddenly sounds very
quiet distant.

This is a great direction that the BBC is trying out. I'd like smaller
file sizes available and RSS though. The sizes available for this
first episode are ludicrous!
