We are still working on the website, around work commitments - apologies for
the delay.

More information are available on the upcoming site below

http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/190628/

The idea is simple, if you have ever written an XSLT stylesheet or wondered
what all the hullabaloo (do people still use this word?) is all about, then
come join us for our first London user group meeting. Of course if you just
happen to be in the vicinity and want to meet some pretty cool people, then
come along too.

It's less of a XSL steering group and more about getting people with the
right skills available to help out those without. And the ensuing benefits
which might potentially arise of course.

There is a mailing list at
http://mail.xslug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/london
subscribe to be updated about upcoming events. (it's not at all noisy)

[backstage] Google Developer Day - places confirmed

2007-05-16 Thread Jonathan Powell

I've just got my google developer day confirmation through (yay!) and the
line-up has been announced, including a session from our own Mr.
Forrester...

*Title: BBC Backstage*

*Speaker:* Ian Forrester, Senior Producer, BBC Backstage

*Session abstract: *Backstage : memes, prototyping and being social in the
face of a rapidly accelerating future.

There's a couple of google-centric API sessions which look interesting. It
seems there's been a change of location as well.

On a similar note, is anyone thinking of organising a meet-up around the
time of the event seeing as a good number of geeks will be in the capitol
around then?

We were planning the XSL user group meet-up for that day, but was warned of
the clash by Ian and changed the date just in time.
Details are available here
http://rants.ekanem.de/2007/05/12/xslug-may-meetup/

It's slated for Tuesday the 29th on the southbank. Anyone interested in XSL
should come along.
I 'm looking to build something using XSLT at hackday in June, it would be
nice to bandy some ideas around beforehand if possible.

Count me in, if I can wrangle the time off work beforehand.
I haven't registered to go to the hackday event because my availability was
a little uncertain what with changing jobs and moving house (I'm not sure if
it's too late to regsiter now, though).
