[BackupPC-users] archive error

2006-06-19 Thread Oliver Vecernik
Hi,

I recently started using BackupPC and I really like it. Trying to
archive my hosts results in an error:

Executing: /usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_archiveHost
/usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_tarCreate /usr/bin/split /usr/bin/par2
localhost 1 /bin/gzip .gz 47 /tmp 5 *
Xfer PIDs are now 29353
Writing tar archive for host localhost, backup #1, split to output files
/tmp/localhost.1.tar.gz.*
exiting after signal ALRM
Archive failed: aborted by signal=ALRM

It happens exactly after 120 minutes. I tried it with and without
split, but the same error occurs. I'm using BackupPC on Ubuntu 6.06
Dapper Drake (Version 2.1.2). Can anybody give me a clue what's going
wrong or how to track this down?

Oliver

[BackupPC-users] Got fatal error during xfer (aborted by signal=PIPE)

2006-06-19 Thread Nils Breunese (Lemonbit Internet)
Hi,

I'm getting this error for one of my hosts. I found the nightly run
hadn't succesfully backed up this host but when I ran the incremental
again I got the error again:

Got fatal error during xfer (aborted by signal=PIPE)

Any idea what could be wrong?

Nils.

[BackupPC-users] Script for backup backup

2006-06-19 Thread Daniel Poelzleithner

Hi,

I want to save a dump of all files of every host I have in on my
backuppc server to a secound computer (only the latest files is
sufficient enough). In my case on a mobile harddisk in case the backuppc
server dies. Has anyone written a script to automate such procedures and
would like to share it ?

I tried mirroring the backuppc pool with not very good results (rsync
needed tons of memory and rbackup (something like that), didn't want to
continue after 2 days of transfer ;))

kindly regards
  Daniel

Have a look at the documentation for the archive facility of backuppc.
