Can you please suggest for me to "trust" in BackupPC (is my first interaction)
a method to check that the full backup is reliable?

The 'f' means that those files are compressed with BackupPC's own
compression tool. If you try to catenate an ASCII text file which starts
with an 'f', you'll see that it's compressed.

To uncompress and examine an individual file, use the
/usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_zcat tool. Something like:

# /usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_zcat
/var/lib/backuppc/pc/host.example.tld/1842/f%2f/fetc/fissue
Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS \n \l

[BackupPC-users] Size Difference between source and backup

2017-02-21 Thread André Tapxure - Soluções Ideais
Hi, there!
I did a du -h '--max-depth=1' in the full backup dir and asked for folder
properties in windows server tha is being backed up and saw a 337GB difference
(440GB to 777GB). I noted also that all files in the destination starts with an
'f'. What that means? Is the backup ok?
