[Bacula-users] Volume Use Duration not working in 5.2.1

2011-11-24 Thread Fahrer, Julian
Hi,

Am I missing something or is the Volume Use Duration parameter in the
pool not working in 5.2.1?

I defined the pool like this:
---
Pool {
  Name = NEO200S_Weekly_Pool
  Pool Type = Backup
  Recycle = yes
  AutoPrune = yes
  Volume Retention = 31 days
  Volume Use Duration = 72h
  Storage = NEO200S
  Cleaning Prefix = CLN
}

---

In bconsole a list volumes shows

---

Pool: NEO200S_Weekly_Pool
+-++---+-+---+--
+--+-+--+---+---+---
--+
| mediaid | volumename | volstatus | enabled | volbytes  |
volfiles | volretention | recycle | slot | inchanger | mediatype |
lastwritten |
+-++---+-+---+--
+--+-+--+---+---+---
--+
|   4 | ANO623L4   | Full  |   1 |   969,400,986,624 |
196 |2,678,400 |   1 |0 | 0 | LTO-4 | 2011-11-14
11:28:51 |
|   5 | ANO650L4   | Append|   1 |   315,867,396,096 |
64 |2,678,400 |   1 |0 | 0 | LTO-4 | 2011-11-14
13:26:54 |
|   7 | ANO622L4   | Full  |   1 | 1,014,171,669,504 |
205 |2,678,400 |   1 |0 | 0 | LTO-4 | 2011-11-21
06:42:40 |

148 |2,678,400 |   1 |0 | 0 | LTO-4 | 2011-11-21
11:36:12 |
+-++---+-+---+--
+--+-+--+---+---+---
--+

---

Mediaid 5 8 should actually be in status used. It is 2011-11-24
17:00 right now...
Same thing for other pools with Volume Use Duration = 12 days

Any hints?

Kind regards

Julian

IMHO status only gets updated if media is consired for use.

If you start a backup job, does it take media-id 5 or 8 ?

Did you change this parameter after the tape was labeled? If so you
may need to update pool from resource and than update all volumes
in pool from bconsole

It's working for me. However, keep in mind that the volume status may
not update until Bacula next examines the volume to see whether it's usable.

[Bacula-users] Bacula version 5.2.2 ready for release

2011-11-24 Thread Kern Sibbald
Hello,

This is to let you know that Bacula version 5.2.2 is a major bug fix
release to
version 5.2.1, and it in the public git repo ready for release. As we will
be releasing it Sunday or Monday, we would appreciate
it if you would test it. Also, we much appreciate the two users who run
regression tests.
Please check your regression output, and be sure you are pulling the
source code
from the public git repository with the branch named Branch-5.2. The old
Branch-5.1 no longer exists so tests run with it are no longer valid.

We have built but not tested the Windows binaries for this new release,
and you
can find them at:

 www.bacula.org/downloads/Bacula-5.2.2rc1

Please test them and let us know if they work -- especially the tray
monitor which
apparently wanted the debug Qt dlls for version 5.2.1.

Note, after version 5.2.2 is released, we will create a branch named
Branch-5.3, which
will be the new development branch. Branch-5.2 will continue to be
updated with patches
that we consider important and stable.

Best regards,
Kern
