[Bacula-users] problem restoring with bat

2009-10-30 Thread Guillaume_h
Hi,

I'm having problem restoring files with bat
I select a file, then, click restore select where I want to restore (I
don't specify a bootstrap file name) then I click ok.

On console I can see a bootstrap file is created in
/var/lib/bacula/127.0.0.1-dir.restore.xx.bsr (xx increments on each
restore) but restore job ends with fatal error can't open bootstrap file
(ERR= no such file)

When restoring files with bconsole there is no problem.

How may I force bat to use automagically the bootstrap file it created ?

thanks

Re: [Bacula-users] Unchanged files still saved in incremental backup

Run stat on one of those older files. Look at the ctime. Is it
very recent -- perhaps a day or less? By default, bacula uses both
the mtime and ctime of a file to determine if it has been changed. If
EITHER one of those is newer than the last backup, bacula will include
 the file in an incremental.

That's it ! I have the change time updated. Thanks.

The problem occurred after a while, here's an history that illustrates
what's happening :

on 09/15 and 09/16:
Backup Level: Incremental, since=2009-09-15 23:00:15
FD Files Written: 50

Hello,

The history posted by "Le dahut" is from one of my servers.

Up to job 158, all is ok, but from job 159 to now, all incremental job
save all files form the server. I don't remember of any change made on
this server. Could you please help me pointing out what causes this
behaviour ?

Here is output from list jobs :

Re: [Bacula-users] Unchanged files still saved in incremental backup

2009-10-05 Thread Guillaume_h
Kevin Keane a écrit :
Bacula uses the file date to determine which files have changed. So a
file with a future file date would be backed up by each incremental backup.

Since you say that your file was NOT backed up on 9/15 and 9/16, my
guess is that some application may be opening the file for writing
without actually making a change. Whatever application is responsible
for that probably wasn't running on 9/15 and 9/16.

No. The history posted by Le Dahut does not end on 9/17. Beginning
from 17/09, all files are backed up every day with incremental backup
whatever the mod date is (I have some files that has not been modified
since 2k8 and bacula backup these files every day).

My problem is :

- Everything worked fine until 9/16
- Bacula saves every files on incrmental since 9/17 (see list jobs in
my previous mail)
- Files have not been modified between backups
- bacula calculate identical hashes on each backup
- Incremental backup are real incremental, bacula doesn't upgrade to a
full (more precisely, bacula doesn't report an upgrade).

I don't know how I can see what makes bacula think files have been
modified. Maybe it is possible to log more to see what triggers backup
of my files ?
