Hi, the tape that I mount has volstatus Append. Of course I can restart the bacula daemon and run the backup by hand, but then I loose the list of backup jobs which are waiting for this one to complete. best regards Marcin - Original Message - From: Stefan MARTEL [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Marcin Wasilewski [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net Sent: Thursday, May 18, 2006 9:16 AM Subject: Re: [Bacula-users] Device is BLOCKED waiting for appendable media. Florian I don't use spooling now, i tried this but the backup time was similar... Marcin well for one spooling lowers the stress on your tape drive so i suggest using that for everything thats not stored on the same box :-) also check what write speed your tape (u using tape?) got doesn't look that slow to me Florian Oh, I didn't mention about the tape. I'm using LTO2 ( 200GB with compression ), I don't remember exactly it's writing speed, but I think it is about 80MB/s without hardware compression. When I backup these large files the network transfer is about 25-30MB/s, but with these small it's about 5MB/s, so that is why average rate is 11MB. [Bacula-users] Max Wait Time = time
Hello, as sometimes my backup jobs fails with different reasons I would like Bacula to leave it and start the next one form scheduled list, so I found this in documentation. Max Wait Time = time The time specifies maximum allowed time that a job may block waiting for a resource (such as waiting for a tape to be mounted, or waiting for the storage or file daemons to perform their duties), counted from the when the job starts (not necessarily the same as when the job was scheduled). This directive is implemented only in version 1.33 and later. Note, the implementation is not yet complete, so this directive does not yet work correctly. I use 1.36.2-2 version and wonder what the implementation is not yet complete, so this directive does not yet work correctly means? and what is the time format (sec, minutes, hours). I use the command: ./bscan.mysql -m -s -P -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf -v -V POOL /dev/st0 it runs but from time to time I get some errors like this below: 23-May 14:54 bscan: Got EOF at file 43 on device /dev/st0, Volume POOL bscan: bscan.c:907 Fileset POOL already exists. bscan: bscan.c:1022 Could not update JobId=1540 record. ERR=sql_update.c:166 Update problem: affected_rows=0 bscan: bscan.c:1121 Created JobMedia record JobId 1540, MediaId 14 23-May 14:55 bscan: Got EOF at file 44 on device /dev/st0, Volume POOL bscan: bscan.c:472 SOS_LABEL: Found Job record for JobId: 0 23-May 14:56 bscan: Got EOF at file 45 on device /dev/st0, Volume POOL 23-May 14:58 bscan: Got EOF at file 46 on device /dev/st0, Volume POOL can anybody tell me why... This is by no means an ultimate solution since I'm sure you want to update your catalog... however... Perhaps you can run bscan without updating the media info in the database (-m option) and/or synchronizing or storing in the database (-s option). At least this way you may be able to restore the files if the problem lies within updating the database. Good luck, Jon Hello, thanks for Your reply, but it didn't work. I tried without -m, without -s and I even purge jobs from that volume and tried once more. Problem is still the same: bscan: bscan.c:845 Could not update media record. ERR=sql_update.c:327 Update problem: affected_rows=0 bscan: bscan.c:600 End of all Volumes. VolFiles=59 VolBlocks=0 VolBytes=14,170,852,177 Records added or updated in the catalog: 0 Media 0 Pool 1 Job 96915 File and then in the restore I don't see that files I would like to restore... [Bacula-users] Restore question
Hello, I am running Bacula on 1.36.2 Debian with MySQL and it is working fine. Some time ago I done very important backup on my tape, and now I need to restore some files from this backup, but when I run my wx-console I cannot find that job and files which I wrote on the tape. It seems that file retetntion period set was wrong: JobRetention=1 month FileRetention=1 month AutoPrune=1 but the pool definition seems to be ok: use_cat=1 use_once=0 acpt_any=1 cat_files=1 max_vols=0 auto_prune=0 VolRetention=1 year VolUse=0 secs recycle=1 LabelFormat=*None* CleaningPrefix=*None* recyleOldest=0 MaxVolJobs=0 MaxVolFiles=0 What should I do to restore those files I need and do not damage anything.
