homosexual married
Dear friends, if a man has 2 wives, and he is become bahai, his 2 marriages would be considered valid, without caring if he was persian muslim (therefore, we speak of legally constituted marriages), or peruvian aguaruna (in this case, their "marriages" are traditionals, the government not certify more than a marriage). if it is the way, then, because in the Faith are not recognized the homosexual spouses, legally married, as a "marriage", when they become to the Faith? regards, husayn The information contained in this e-mail and any attachments thereto ("e-mail") is sent by the Johnson County Community College ("JCCC") and is intended to be confidential and for the use of only the individual or entity named above. Re: change of sex?
Dear Hasan, I wish I could read Spanish, but I can't get very far with it, so I cannot read what you wrote on your blog. Anyway--and, there are sources you might try that are far more educated than I am on this--the House appears to accept that there is a difference between a homosexual and a person with gender dysphoria, or whatever it's called. My understanding is that a homosexual is of a certain sex emotionally and physically, but is sexually attracted to the SAME gender--I think we all agree on that. However, there is this other category that is NOT emotionally or mentally of their physical gender, and is sexually attracted to people of what they perceive of as the OPPOSITE gender--essentially, they are heterosexual, but trapped in the wrong package. The House has, so far, agreed that this is a medical condition that may be treated by gender reassignment surgery. Unfortunately, these are rigid categories, and I think that the thread of this discussion addresses that there is a lot of area that is difficult to define. Re: change of sex?
I think that's naive since the guidance is that medical treatment is acceptable. The case I know of the House recommended SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) as an acceptable option. Pseudo-hermaphrodites are genetically male but outwardly female, that has an instance of about 1:100,000 births, so there are about 15,000 such individuals in the U.S. alone. The instance of ambiguous genitalia is even higher. Gender dysphoria, on the other hand is probably largely a mental thing, the faith recommends medical treatment for it. SRS is medical treatment. In bahá'í view a homosexual is a "sick heterosexual" or "perturbed heterosexual". So "change of sex" doesn’t exist. http://hasaneliasperu.blogspot.com/ The information contained in this e-mail and any attachments thereto ("e-mail") is sent by the Johnson County Community College ("JCCC") and is intended to be confidential and for the use of only the individual or entity named above.
