[bajajpulsar] HID setup on P220

2008-10-29 Thread Alkesh Banavali
Hi techies,

Is it possible to fix an HID in the upper beam of the P220? If yes, since the
P220 comes with a 55W lightings- will a 35W HID setup work or I have to get a
55W kit? Also I believe it might affect the warranty too.

Please advise.

Regards,

Alkesh

You can fix an HID on the 220.but theres a prob...the light console for
the 220 is an H7so you will wither have to hunt for an H kit or
fabricate your console to an H4(dont knw if its possible)..a better
idea would be to go for an external setup...like deepak.no hasseles with
the warranty too as yuou can remove it easily before takin the bike for
service.

[bajajpulsar] Celebrating diwali with blown fuses

2008-10-29 Thread Deepak
Though I hate crackers, but this Diwali the fuses on my P150 DTSi have
been blowing up like anything. Its already running on the 7th fuse in
two days. Am sure there is some wire short in the circuit- but with so
many wires being covered under miles of adhesive tape, its extremely
difficult to locate where :( Any pointers techies?

Also is the whole circuit available in the market which can be just
plugged into all connectors without hassles- or is it a time consuming
task?

Regards,

Deepak

Happy fuse Diwali.

The trick to trace the reason for the fuse blow out is to under stand the trend
ie under stand when how the fuse blows.

Once understood, the same can be chased based on the wiring emerging into out
of the particular circuit.

The easier way out is to replace the harness, but that is no guarntee that it
would resolve the issue out as there are sub circuits other pieces of
equipments like RR unit which do cause the issue.

So plan your steps taking these fact as the background.

P220 will detect the bulb as fused(due to lesser consumption) will

If you are looking at HID as an upgrade to your lighting setup on the
P220,would not recommend it. P220 is a bit more complex then what we
anticipate it to be ;)
