Dear Nicolau,

Please find attached a PDF copy of Gallot's original manuscript print PLUS a
copy of Gallot's instructions how to play his compositions, including what is
the meaning of all signs.

In your case the "T" look like a combination of the thumb sign ( I ) and a
sloping short line ( Ì· ) which by itself would indicates to separate the
notes above.

Kind regards,

Bernhard from Vienna

The T sign under a chord indicates that one should play the lowest notes with
the thumb. The upside down v sign before a note indicates an appoggiatura from
below; the upside down v sign after a note indicates a 'pincé' or mordent, as
does a v sign after or before a note .

Best,

Matthew

   Dear Nicolau,
Your link did not come through at all (this list does not permit
attachments), so I cannot see the piece in question. However, I
suspect you are referring to an image of a piece from the Manuscrit
Barbe, Res. Vmb.ms.7 in Paris, ca 1690. The collection of pieces have
many red ciphers, which are various fingering suggestions and phrase
markings. It is a beautiful collection.
   Best,
   Ed Martin
