We can be glad not to have been affected personally by the flooding.
And, luckily, at least, Germany is a rich country, where people have
the chance to get a lot of help.
The only tiny good thing about environmental disasters is that people
will take climate change and the impact of human behavior more and
more serious, and will begin to understand and accept that the effects
of climate change cannot simply be rolled back in a few decades. In
Siberia, new forests are burning again in 2021. Canada and Scandinavia
have just broken records. The withering drought in Madagascar is
hardly in the news – And all this is arbitrary examples.
As Jane Goodall once stated: “If humans are the most intelligent
beings on Earth, why are we destroying it?” I wish all of us all the
best.
