I do not disagree, and I want to get started with this. (Yet lately I have been too busy with other stuff.) The nontrivial problem remains how to make sure that people will actually read this. The issue which initiated this thread is actually described in the README file for BBDB (which is not as fancy as an info manual, but it is better than nothing). Also, the OP even found the relevant docstring for bbdb-mua-update-interactive-p. Still this was not enough...
