I can imagine how frustrating it must be to have your usual setup fail! I assume you've contacted Barebones support and also David Kocher at Cyberduck about this. Meanwhile, have you tried any other FTP clients on your machine? Over here I just checked and everything works fine with Fetch -- currently running Fetch 5.7.3 BBEdit 10.5.1 on OS X 10.8.2. Besides Fetch, another seasoned FTP client many on this list swear by is InterArchy. (My only association with Fetch/InterArchy is that I've used them forever.) Hope you find a solution. Best Regards, - Bruce As solutions go, BBEdit works great with Fetch, but Fetch doesn't do s3, which Cyberduck does. If you set your external editor to TextMate, the external editing in Cyberduck works fine. Many quivers makes a happy archer. Or something. And, BBEdit 3.5, really? Re: BBEdit 3.5 and Cyberduck
I should have said 10.5 instead of 3.5. The Cyberduck status message says Compute MD5 hash of index.php and the spinning beach ball continues for two minutes before stopping. If I select another text editor besides BBEdit in Cyberduck preferences the file opens for editing as expected. I haven't updated Cyberduck recently either. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the BBEdit Talk discussion group on Google Groups. Re: BBEdit 3.5 and Cyberduck
For reference, you're encountering the same OS bug described here: http://www.barebones.com/support/bbedit/faqs.html#mountain_lion_bug though with Cyberduck you do have another option as follows: * Issue the following Terminal command on a single line: defaults write ch.sudo.cyberduck editor.odb.enable false (this command causes CyberDuck to switch from using its ODB editor support to simple file monitoring) [which I'll add to the FAQ as well.] Regards, Patrick Woolsey == Bare Bones Software, Inc. http://www.barebones.com/ At 09:28 -0800 12/24/2012, Dan Poynor wrote: I should have said 10.5 instead of 3.5. Re: BBEdit 3.5 and Cyberduck
Thanks Patrick, the terminal command has solved it. I can now edit out of Cyberduck again.
