Tony why is it that the poor country bumpkin gets the blame
Lloyd - not blaming the good ole boys, just reporting that the impression we
get is that the pseudo-president and his henchmen are behaving in the same
way. Tony N-S.

TONY R: Off topic posts

2003-03-09 Thread Allan Balliett
ME Too It is still our busy season here down under and there are too many
off subjects . I am close to leaving this list myself.
   Regards Tony R

Hey, Tony, help me here. I don't really understand your objection to
posts that you consider off topic. is it the bit weight of messages
that you find irrelevant objectionable? Or are you simply
uncomfortable with people talking about things that do not
immediately seem related to working with the soil?

My post isn't meant to be a challenge.

I'm simply trying to understand.

Thanks

-Allan

Can another Tony chip in?
Sorry, folks, but the conception which liberals in Britain have of U.S.
Americans, based largely on the loudest noises which reach us from across
the Atlantic, is of uncultured and unsympathetic rednecks prepared to blast
off the face of the Earth anyone who stands in their materialistic way.
BDNow subscribers are, of course, the complete antithesis of this. It may
not be the primary purpose of the forum to project an image of such
'atypical' Americans but your political comments provide an insight to we
overseas sunscribers which I, at least, find both valuable and comforting
(except when, in the distant past, I was flamed by Greg Willis!) . As I
wrote previously, surely it's not too onerous to click on the delete button
for mail which fails to interest you? Tony N-S.

Tony why is it that the poor country bumpkin gets the blame - the loud noise
you hear is generated and deftly edited by the media barons and money moguls
who are the real problem - the 'gun totin rednecks' are used up as cannon
fodder any time it suits the purpose. Some of your 'cultured' english
liberals will be among the major winners from a war in the middle east -
dont put all the blame on the americans - bush could not have gotten away
with this on his own - he needed to get some other fools involved - england
and australia jumping in was enough to let him wind things up at home. bush
, blair and howard are only puppets doing someone else's dance anyhow

(except when, in the distant past, I was flamed by Greg Willis!)
A dose of Greg Willis' fire would do this list a power of good at the
moment.
Cheers

Hi Allan Some days off topics that do not have much relevance to BD drown
out BD topics and some days good topics are ignored and new people get
ignored.I have been on this list for 6years now and i do observe this quite
often. I am aware that we have oposing seasons and when we are busy when
you are snow bound and have nothing to do!
I just delete most off topics it is very easy and I am normally quite
tolerant. I was just expreesing an opinion why so many people are leaving
this list because at times their is not enough interesting BD discussion
.
I am trying to be pro active.

I think your opinion that 'so many people' are leaving the list is
erroneous. I mentioned that two people had left because Jane started
posting Global News again. I'd like to have these people back, but
neither were contributers of BD content.

Our largest problem right now is that members of the US BDA feel
self-righteous about not being involved with this discussion group,
although, in the beginning (even after the fire storms) we had many.
As it stands now, we have few.

Anyone good at outreach and consensus building would do well to ask
this group to be involved with this list rather than to stand away
from it, as though there is some advantage to them to not contribute
to making this the best discussion of biodynamic agriculture possible
at this time.

Know what I mean?
