Re: Error in Exporting Crystal Reports to HTML
--- New Message on BDOTNET --- From: LovedJohnySmith Message 2 in Discussion Baskar, Before answering to your question, let me confirm that you've coded as follows: Dim htmlOpts As New HTMLFormatOptions() Dim exportOpts As New ExportOptions() Dim diskOpts As New DiskFileDestinationOptions() ' Set the HTML format options. htmlOpts.HTMLFileName = File htmlOpts.HTMLEnableSeparatedPages = seperatePages htmlOpts.HTMLHasPageNavigator = pageNavigator Report.ExportOptions.FormatOptions = htmlOpts ' With HTML the destination options need to be set also. diskOpts.DiskFileName = Server.MapPath(destinationPath / File) Report.ExportOptions.DestinationOptions = diskOpts ' Export the report. Report.ExportOptions.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile Report.ExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.HTML40 Report.Export() If i'm sounds correct, you've missed out something with your code. For HTML export you want to provide a directory name, not a file name, since the CRPE32.DLL print engine has to make multiple files for each page and each jpg in the report. If you provide a file name that is not an existing directory name, the report will fail to export. Hope this helps. Re: Asp.net + Crystal reports
--- New Message on BDOTNET --- From: prakrutirao Message 5 in Discussion Dear Sudha, Thanks for the prompt reply...I think this is gonna work...however I still need some clarification abt this code.. The code seems like making use of another aspx page for getting the values from a text control and the export file type.. am I correct abt this? If yesis it like calling a child form and posting the values from the child form to the parent form to get the values of the destination or something like that?? cud u please brief me on this aspect?? And could u lemme know what the printer code is gonna do ..is it gonna invoke the Windows Printer dialogue ?? If not do I need to write a code for that too coz I had seen a code something like that .finding the printers connected to the network and then populating them on to a Drop down list in the child form. Please clarify on this. Is it similar to this?? Asp.net + Crystal reports
--- New Message on BDOTNET --- From: prakrutirao Message 1 in Discussion Hi, am working on a web based application using ASP.Net with VB as code behind. I've got two questions to ask for which I need help and answers ASAP. 1. I've created some crystal reports using the .Net Crystal Reports and have written a code to export the reports to PDF and EXCEL formats with the destination and the file name being hard coded in the code behind. What I want now is as I click on the Export button to export, it shud open the Save as dialogue box as in the Windows Applications so that I can select the destination and provide the file name to be exported. 2. For the same program mentioned above, I need a Print button too...which also invokes the Print Dialogue box as in case of windows application so that I can chose the printer I want to print it to. I tried the .Net Help provided and found only the codes, which will work for the Windows Application and not in the Web Applications. Please let me know the answers for the above ASAP. Re: Setting Deault Printer in Crystal Reports
--- New Message on BDOTNET --- From: Varad_RS Message 2 in Discussion Hi, You can set the default printer at design time in the report, and you can change the printer name at run time by setting the ReportDocument.PrintOptions.PrinterName property (In PrintOptions you can assign page margins, portrait/landscape, etc.). This method prints from the server itself, not from the client machine. This means that any printer you wish to use must be accessible from the server. You cannot print to a client's desktop printer using this method unless that printer is shared on the network and mapped to the server. Hope this helps..
