Hi, I have created a Report in Crystal at my PC. I set its paper size as User
Defined (12Width X 4Height). In my PC I have set the paper size in Printer

When I open the same report in another PC which is also having the user

How to get the custom paper size in PC2? Thanx in advanceR Sethumadhavan

Hi Smith, I thank and appreciate your prompt reply. The code goes like this
   objReportDocument.SetDataSource(dsReportData);

HTMLFormatOptions objHTMLFormatOptions = new HTMLFormatOptions();
objHTMLFormatOptions.HTMLBaseFolderName = Server.MapPath(CHARTS_FOLDER);
objHTMLFormatOptions.HTMLFileName = strReportFileName.Split(new char[]{'.'})[0]
+ intCustomerID.ToString() + .htm;
ExportOptions objExportOptions = new ExportOptions();
objExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.HTML40;
objExportOptions.ExportFormatOptions = objHTMLFormatOptions;
objReportDocument.Export(objExportOptions);
-
Note: In my build machine, Cystal reports 10 is installed. This report export
works fine in my machine. But in Deployment machine Crystal reports 11 is
installed(since customer licensed with this). Will this cause such problems? if
so what to do?
Please kindly provide your view. Thanks again

Baskar,

   Before answering to your question, let me confirm that you've coded as
follows:

 Dim htmlOpts As New HTMLFormatOptions()
Dim exportOpts As New ExportOptions()
Dim diskOpts As New DiskFileDestinationOptions()

' Set the HTML format options.
htmlOpts.HTMLFileName = File
htmlOpts.HTMLEnableSeparatedPages = seperatePages
htmlOpts.HTMLHasPageNavigator = pageNavigator
Report.ExportOptions.FormatOptions = htmlOpts

' With HTML the destination options need to be set also.
diskOpts.DiskFileName = Server.MapPath(destinationPath  /
File)
Report.ExportOptions.DestinationOptions = diskOpts

' Export the report.
Report.ExportOptions.ExportDestinationType =
ExportDestinationType.DiskFile
Report.ExportOptions.ExportFormatType =
ExportFormatType.HTML40

Report.Export()

If i'm sounds correct, you've missed out something with your code. For HTML
export you want to provide a directory name, not a file name, since
the CRPE32.DLL print engine has to make multiple files for each page and
each jpg in the report. If you provide a file name that is not an existing
directory name, the report will fail to export.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Smith

Hi
You need to provide Crystal Report Redistributable with your setup.

I am working on the VS2005 and i prepared the Setup Project where i added
the Prequities in the Setup by right click on the Setup Project and select
Properties

From Property Page Window click on Settings and Select the .NET
Fremawork,Crystal Reports for .NET CheckBox.

I am not sure whether this will work in VS2003 or not.

Hi Sagar/Jithu,

i have a windows forms application using Crystal Reports which came
along with VS2003. now i want to build the application and run it on
another computer. What should be installed in that other computer so
that my application will run perfectly:-

NET framework is obviously needed.

Should i install crystal reports too? If yes, then how do i get the
crystal reports package alone. It always comes along with VS right ?

Is there any way to build the target application on the developer
machine in such a way that Crystal Reports dlls will be
statically linked to the application ?

Hi, I had designed the crystal reports with the SQL command as the data
source. Now I have created views with the same command with some modifications.
I use the Set DataSource Location to change the data source to the created
view. When i click update, I get the Map Dialog. I'm fine with all these
things. My problem is, if i had left some fields unmapped and saved the report,
I'm unable to map further.Also I'm not able to change my mapping later. How to
go about it? Is there a way to change the mappings? Regards, - Kulanthaivel

   And, While you may allow access to the runtime software by many users, the
version of the runtime software provided with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio
.NET is a performance-limited edition intended for development purposes and use
with Server/Web applications accessed by small groups. If a report is accessed
while the server is at its performance limit, the request will be delayed until
an existing request finishes. When a request is delayed, the server writes a
warning message to the event log. After a finite period of time, the request
will time-out. When this happens, the server writes another warning to the

 Dear Sudha, Thanks for the prompt reply...I think this is gonna
work...however I still need some clarification abt this code.. The code seems
like making use of another aspx page for getting the values from a text control
and the export file type.. am I correct abt this? If yesis it like calling
a child form and posting the values from the child form to the parent form to
get the values of the destination or something like that?? cud u please brief
me on this aspect?? And could u lemme know what the printer code is gonna do
..is it gonna invoke the Windows Printer dialogue ?? If not do I need to write
a code for that too coz I had seen a code something like that .finding the
printers connected to the network and then populating them on to a Drop down
list in the child form. Please clarify on this. Is it similar to this??

Message 1 in Discussion

Hi,

am working on a web based application using ASP.Net
with VB as code behind. I've got two questions to ask for which I need
help and answers ASAP.

1. I've created some crystal reports using the .Net
Crystal Reports and have written a code to export the reports to PDF and EXCEL
formats with the destination and the file name being hard coded in the code
behind.

What I want now is as I click on the Export button
to export, it shud open the Save as dialogue box as in the Windows
Applications so that I can select the destination and provide the file name to
be exported.

2. For the same program mentioned above, I need a
Print button too...which also invokes the Print Dialogue box as in case of
windows application so that I can chose the printer I want to print it
to.

I tried the .Net Help provided and found only the codes, which will
work for the Windows Application and not in the Web Applications.

Please let me know the answers for the above ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Prakruti

I am hosting web pages inside my VC++ container. And I want to run my crystal

run .rpt files from Javascript or JScript. But I didn't get information on How
I can resolve this. Anybody have any idea how i can do this.

Platform: VS.Net 2003

Hi, You can set the default printer at design time in the report, and you can change
the printer name at run time by setting the ReportDocument.PrintOptions.PrinterName
property (In PrintOptions you can assign page margins, portrait/landscape, etc.).
This method prints from the server itself, not from the client machine. This means
that any printer you wish to use must be accessible from the server. You cannot print
to a client's desktop printer using this method unless that printer is shared on the
network and mapped to the server. Hope this helps.. Regards, Varad.

Hi,

We developed a ASP.NET(C#) project. This portal has
report module which was developed using crystal reports.
All the reports in this module working fine. Today
I have taken the baseline for this project and configured in another
system and working fine.
The problem, I'm facing is, when I try to create a
new crystal report file, existing datasets are not visible. I tried database
login/log off, build solution etc.

Please respond anybody experience this problem
before.

I will really appreciate your help

Gopal
