Hotel Update for 2004

2003-06-15 Thread Cindy Still
Just to give you an update. The hotel is STILL sending out
confirmations. Based on info from the hotel they are anticipating
confirmations to continue to be mailed out for at least the next two
weeks, possibly three. It also appears that as usual our US Postal
service is sometimes extremely slow. There were a couple of committee
members who just got confirmations toward the end of last week that were
mailed two weeks prior.

The hotel has stated We are not Sold Out. If a guests wants a room
they will have one. The hotel is still helping us as much as possible.
They are doing all negoitians for any overflow rooms and getting
concessions from these hotels that do not normally accept dogs.

The reservation manger, Stephanie Rowe has indicated that the best way
to reach her if you have questions or need changes to your reservation
is to email her. She may be reached at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Stephanie has indicated that with the volumn she has received she would
prefer communications to be in writing to be sure all requests are taken
care of.

Just so you all know, Stephanie is the single person at the hotel
managing all of our confirmations. This is in addition to her other
daily duties. It was decided to have a single person focus on our
group, so there is less chance of confusion. Please be patient with her
as she works on our group info every day.

I do currently have a list with about two thirds of the names that
reservations have been received from. For those that I have, I will be
happy to at least confirm that your reservation has been received by
the hotel. If you would like to email me the name you booked your
reservation under, I can at least do that for you. If I don't have your
name in the 2/3's I have I can forward your email to the hotel to check
and make sure they have your reservation request.

If you need that information PLEASE BE SURE TO USE THIS EMAIL TO CONTACT
ME:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I know you are all anxious to get your confirmations, 2004 is going to
be a great specialty.

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin, Keep those Doggies Rollin ..to
Mesquite Texas 2004.

Happy Fathers Day!

2003-06-15 Thread Karen
BlankJust wanted to extend our wishes for a very Happy Fathers Day to all
the Berner children Dads out there, oh and also the very important Dads of
our Human children as well.
I do hope that the important people and canines in your lives show their
love and appreciation today and everyday. Stevie's human Dad is not in our
lives much any more, but with all that has transpired, they still love each
other, unconditionally, no question. It just goes to show the power of the
connection between us and our beloved Berners. So on that note, I will be
the Dad today and we WILL go out for something to eat and slurp. I am just
wondering if that means, that I get to buy myself a Father's Day gift??
Anyway, love to you and yours.
Big Berner Hugs and Kisses

Eating Goose Poop

2003-06-15 Thread Carole Kaye
My seven year old Berner girl doesn't normally eat poop, but just
recently has been taking every opportunity to eat goose poop whenever we
take her walking near lakes or parks where Canada Geese are found. Is
there anything harmful in this? Carole, Pebbles Guinness

ingrown hairs

2003-06-15 Thread KendyBo
Hi all,

My girl has an ingrown hair, right where her back leg meets her belly and they rub
together. She's not really wild about me touching it, but it's not very inflamed at
this point.

I'm looking for some advice on clearing it up, or pulling that hair out.
Any experience out there?

Thanks,
Kendra, Jackson, and Sallie

Re: Michael Johnson's Art

2003-06-15 Thread Jean Cheesman
Hi All,

I first saw one of his paintings on Jean Cheesman's site.

Animals are a big part of all of his paintings and Berners a part of some.
.

I love Michael's art! Mom, Robin mailed me some time ago about Michael's
paintings when he first painted Bernese, Kodi! I just had to feature his
work in fact was the beginnings of my Bernese Art Section on the Site,
artists had previously been on my Links page.

He has a new one of 3 Berner puppies that is really nice

Haven't seen this one yet!!

Will mail Robin, and hopefully will soon have it up there!

In the meantime find Michael's work and link to his site on my Bernese Art
Page.

All love,

Jean, Sunny, Sim, Barney and the Longlease Gang

Birds becoming brazen and bold

2003-06-15 Thread Lisa D Allen
Funny the things we remember.
I was in my teens and visiting my grandparents in Miami Beach, Florida.
Animal lover that I am, I decided to stroll along the beach and feed the
birds.
Either they were starving or did not care for the brand of biscuits that I
brought, because, the very second the bag was emptied, these large winged
creatures took flight toward me, for all intents and purposes looking as
though they wanted me for dessert. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.
The local birds seem to enjoy landing on my fence where my younger dog can
reach them.
When she is but inches away from them, they take flight, seeming to enjoy
teasing my precious pup.
